Autumn wedding styling 👌🏻

Autumn wedding styling 👌🏻
I am a huge believer in finding beauty in the simplest of things....decor doesn’t have to be fussy, complicated or expensive (unless you want it to be!).
Your decor should reflect you and your partner, your personalities, your love for one another.
As simple as the placement of foliage between a wooden charger and glass plate - minimalist perfection 🌿🤍

Have you ever wondered HOW MANY pieces of music you’ll actually need to choose for your Wedding Day?
Amongst all the other planning details, it can be overwhelming knowing when you would usually have music playing and what other considerations you’ll have to keep in mind when choosing significant pieces of music for your day.
For your Ceremony, you will need to choose 3 separate pieces of music - depending on your venue, these may be songs or perhaps more traditional or instrumental music.
Head over to my latest blog post to discover more about the different types of music you’ll want to choose and the importance of learning about A•R•E•A when choosing your venue! 🎶

This is by no means new news, but something that we need to remind ourselves of so we can start making serious changes.
🔻An estimated 20kg of plastic waste PER WEDDING ends up in our oceans🔺
🔻In the UK alone, we normally have over 200,000 Weddings annually🔺
What changes will you be making toward having a more sustainable, eco-friendly Wedding?

Lighting | Colour | Texture
Did you know that something as simple as the colours, lighting or fabric textures you choose for your Wedding can invoke a range of different emotions in not only you and your partner, but particularly in your guests?
For example, if you’re trying to create a
▫️happy ▫️calm ▫️ elegant▫️ atmosphere you would likely opt for:
▫️lighter colour theme
▫️thin, draped fabrics (chiffon, linen)
▫️lots of natural (or artificial) lighting to brighten the area
▫️ Set your event during the day to make use of the daylight
In contrast, if you wanted a more ▫️romantic ▫️mysterious ▫️mood then you would be more inclined to use:
▫️less lighting (candle light, low light features)
▫️a combination of richer textures (velvets, chenille, suede)
▫️a darker colour palette (or varying hues of one colour)
▫️Set your event during dusk, sunset and in the evening when there is a darker atmosphere
Head over to the blog to read more into the different ways you can play around with design elements and how to create discrete focal points through perspective!

▫️How to Wash Your Wedding Dress▫️
My tutorial has just gone live on the blog, giving you real advice on how to wash your Wedding dress at home yourself!
In most cases I would always recommend taking your dress to be cleaned professionally at a Dry Cleaners.
However, if like me, you attempt to do this at your own risk, it can be relatively easy and simple with great results!
NB. I had to wash my Wedding Dress twice...once after the Wedding and again after this photo shoot😅

▫️How to do an Open Bar on a budget ▫️
Having an open bar for your guests doesn’t have to be overly expensive.
Here are 5 tips to think about when organising an open bar for your wedding:
▫️1. Dress up simple (but enjoyable!) drinks in unique and elegant ways. Beer and wine buckets are a huge hit and a great way for guests to help themselves and reduce the costs of bar staff - they also fit in perfectly at a rustic, outdoor Wedding.
▫️2. BYOB! {Bring your own booze} - venues will mark up their drinks 99.9% of the time (naturally, they need to do this to make a profit) so if your venue allows then you’ll benefit from purchasing your own drinks and having them served at your venue. DO NOT FORGET - A L W A Y S check with your venue if they have the correct alcohol licenses to allow you to bring and serve your own alcohol and find out if they have *CORKAGE FEES*. Corkage fees can often be quite steep, so make sure you consider the cost of adding corkage fees on top of any drinks you may bring in yourself. Sometimes the cost of corkage and buying your own drinks will work out cheaper than buying straight from the venue, but sometimes it won’t!
▫️3. Serve a signature cocktail when guests arrive at your Wedding Breakfast/Reception. It will be a nice touch for your Wedding guests and will change it up if you are serving beer, wine and soft drinks later on.
▫️4. Add a selection of interesting non-alcoholic options for your guests. Sparkling fruit punches, fresh lemonade and fun juice recipes will go down a treat and won’t dent your pocket!
▫️5. If you are worried your guests will want more drink options, why not think about offering some simple drink choices as an open bar (ie. beer, cider, wine, Prosecco, soft drinks) and also having your venue bar open for purchasing liquors or any other drinks your guests may like.
🤍Top tip: If you are feeling stretched on your budget, why not consider serving Prosecco instead of Champagne during the Wedding toasts. It works out much lower in cost and can be equally as enjoyable (and often guests won’t notice the difference!)

Out with formal Wedding Breakfasts and in with low-key, fun food bars 🍕
Don’t feel that you have to choose a formal, sit-down meal for your Wedding.
Not only can it be more expensive but it also may not really reflect you as a couple - we tend to opt for a sit-down Wedding Breakfast because it’s the only option we’re given.
Outdoor wedding venues are the perfect place to play around with food stations and share your favourite foods with your guests! Bonus - it can be done on a budget!
Who would love to have this pizza bar setup?!

Would you trash the dress?
A largely increasing trend, and perhaps more common for destination Weddings, so...would you ‘trash the dress’ after your nuptials?
If you are thinking of having a fun photo shoot like this, here are some tips:
1. Purchase an inexpensive secondhand Wedding Gown from somewhere like eBay - you’ll be able to interchange with your actual Wedding Gown for the more difficult shots that will be tricky with a large Wedding dress (your wedding dress will be extremely heavy after getting wet!)
2. Choose 2 or 3 different locations for your shoot - you may as well make the most of it! Be sure to save the water shots for the end!
3. Don’t splurge on a Hair & MUA for this shoot, you’ll no doubt be getting messy/wet/muddy quickly! DO use your own waterproof make-up 💄
Stay tuned later this week for my tutorial on how to clean your Wedding Dress at home!

Guest List Dilemma?
Probably one of the trickiest parts of planning your Wedding, and something I frequently see couples worrying about.
N E V E R feel guilty for cutting your guest list!
If your Wedding Guest List is keeping you up at night, why not consider looking at smaller Wedding Venues that can only cater to limited numbers or, if you really can’t decide on who to invite, ask yourself these questions:
▫️Have you spoken to this person in the last 12 months?
▫️Would they make your day more special or more stressful?
▫️For colleagues, would you meet with them outside of work?
▫️Is this someone you would go out of your way to buy dinner for?
Do not stress over Wedding etiquette. This is your day. You do not need to justify who you want or don’t want to be at your Wedding.

It’ll be worth the wait....
Words that so many couples due to have married in 2020 will be exhausted of hearing.
We all try to stay positive but in reality...
▫️Frustration▫️
▫️Disappointment ▫️
▫️Anxiety▫️
...what we really feel right now.
‘When will we be able to have the Wedding we dreamed of? Will we get our deposit back or be able to postpone to another suitable date?’
‘Will my business survive this? I can’t afford to refund all my clients, can we find another date to postpone to?’
Under such new and uncertain circumstances we just don’t know what will unfold as time goes on. Wedding couples and wedding suppliers are at a standstill and we’re all just doing our best to line up a plan B...and C...and D...
Keep going.
Keep planning.
Keep adapting.
Positivity is key. Your time WILL come.
We will push through this.
Love always wins in the end 🤍

3 Reasons why you should book your Videographer now: 🤍 MEMORIES - it goes without saying that having visual footage to capture your day is something you will cherish for years to come and enjoy watching back years later. 🤍 EMOTION - wedding photographs are extremely special, but being able to capture real-time emotions of not only yourselves but your Wedding guests as well is something that can’t always be fully depicted through a still image. You may even capture reactions that were unexpected and can look back on parts of your day that you didn’t see before. 🤍 LIFE STAGE - you’ll be so thankful to be able to look back at family during that stage of your life. Watching nieces, nephews, grandparents and other family and friends from your day are special memories to look back on in the future. ____________________ This stunning footage of Rob & Sadie was taken by exclusive Photographer and Videographer @cwaddell88 during their beautiful Wedding last year.
