This post is a little late. My birthday was September 12th, and as we all know, we all adult. Some of us are just better at it than others. LOL

I got carried away and decided to have my cake and get hurt at the same time.
I'm all better now. No more hobbling to and from my vehicle.

The sad reality is I'm a year older. I'm still a businesswoman, a mom, and a sister, and I'm sure someone out there thinks I'm a great mentor. I'll take it.

Had a great night at Concordia College Moorhead for Networking Skills 101 at the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
The students came prepared and stepped out of their comfort zones to start conversations with professionals. By the end of the night, their confidence had gone up.

I enjoy being part of our local nonprofit community where Ellis Transit LLC, can make a difference. Thank you so much for the invite. Matthew's Voice Project.

We had a great morning connecting with our school social workers!

As the number of students identified as experiencing homelessness has grown to more than 1,000 per school year, we recognize that we need to grow in how we communicate and educate.

We invited all school social workers and supporting school contacts to join us for breakfast. The goal was to celebrate their commitment to this challenging work and make sure they know how to utilize MVP. 25 amazing student advocates took time out of their day to join us! They even shared stories with one another about how we supported unique student needs to help add context around the flexibility of our support.

We are excited to make this an annual event to kick off the school year. We want to ensure that our school social workers know to contact us when they have a need that will help keep our students who meet the McKinney-Vento Homelessness Assistance Act requirements in school and reaching graduation.

A note to our riders about our updated pricing

Thank you for riding with Ellis Transit. We don't make pricing changes lightly, so we want to tell you plainly why we're making one.

Fuel has become one of our biggest operating costs, and it has gone up a lot this year:

⛽ The national average for regular gas is $4.48 a gallon. That's the highest it has ever been at this time of year.
⛽ In Minnesota, regular gas averages $4.38 a gallon, about $1.35 more than a year ago.
⛽ Minnesota diesel reached $6.35 a gallon, the highest level ever recorded in the state.
⛽ In Fargo-Moorhead, regular gas is about $4.12, up from $2.77 a year ago.
⛽ Crude oil is around $100 a barrel, and ongoing instability in the Strait of Hormuz keeps pushing prices up.

Our vans, shuttles and sedans travel a lot of miles for airport runs, regional trips, events and group transportation. Raising our rates lets us keep our vehicles well maintained, pay our drivers fairly and stay the reliable, on-time service you count on.

What stays the same: professional drivers, clean vehicles, clear communication and service you can schedule ahead of time.

• Regular gas: $4.27 a gallon, up about $1.35 from a year ago
• Diesel: $6.22 a gallon, up from $3.46 a year ago and close to the state's all-time record

Nationally, the average price of regular gas is $4.48 a gallon, the highest ever for this time of year.
