This weekend we proudly supported the WGUK: Winter Guard United Kingdom circuit at Southern Knights Performing Arts Home Show in Burgess Hill

We are super proud to be able to support the WGUK: Winter Guard United Kingdom circuit and Southern Knights Performing Arts

We will be providing the sound system for the WGUK Burgess Hill show in March.

Last weekend we had our annual preview and thanks to everyone that came out and supported all three of our performing groups, Rugrats, Juniors and Stars and special thanks to to Wave Entertainment for providing the sound system and music between each performance - we really appreciate the support.

This week has seen us have to deal with a few issues as the school we rehearse at - and store all our equipment - was subject to an arson attack and is still officially a crime scene and closed off - however, this morning we were able to enter the school grounds and quickly collect our equipment and also very thankful to be allowed access to another school for the day to ensure our members had a chance to prepare for their first contest this winter. Thanks to all the parents for their patience and support whilst we sorted things out

So...

Tomorrow sees the start of the 2024 competition season for both our Cadet Class and Junior Class with both units attending the WGUK Contest - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire contest. We wish them both every success as they perform their new shows in front of the judges for the first time.

It's a "double header" weekend coming up with the WGUK Contest - Burgess Hill, Sussex contest tomorrow (Saturday 18th March) and then on Sunday 19th we travel over 260 miles up country to the WGUK Contest - York.

All 25 units will be competing over the weekend at one or other of these events so please come out and support the Guards in their final contest prior to the WGUK: British Winter Guard Championships on Saturday 1st April - let's 👊

Also at the Burgess Hill contest on Saturday the fantastic Southern Knights Stars Additional Needs Colour Guard will be in exhibition 😍

Our socials may have been quite but we sure haven’t been.

2023 has already kicked off for us at Wave Entertainment. The team have already completed 4 parties this year and we even supplied sound system to Southern Knights Colourguard at their Open Show Evening

We have also expanded and are working with 2 new DJ’s which means we are able to accommodate more bookings.

Big Boss Chris will be taking a few weeks off as he recoveres from his surgery after being diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. If you have met Chris you will know he is a big loveable fun character and always brings the fun to an event.

Job Opportunity - DJ

Wave Entertainment is expanding and we are looking for a talented DJ to connect with our guests at their bookings. We are known for being full of fun and the life and soul of the party so you need to have a real outgoing vibe about you.

As a DJ, you will be responsible for engaging with guests, queueing up playlists, taking music requests, You may also be required to MC public events.

To ensure success as a DJ, you should have a natural charisma, a passion for music, and the ability to connect with people.

DJ Responsibilities:

Mixing and playing music at events.
Taking music requests and engaging with guests at events
Responding to social media interactions.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a DJ (We can train you)
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of modern music trends.
Good presenting skills.
Good interpersonal skills.

This role will be over the weekend and on an adhoc basis when required.
