After losing to Roman Reigns, The Undertaker left his coat, gloves and hat in the ring before leaving and breaking character, seemingly retiring. At his Hall of Fame induction in 2022, Taker would put his hat and coat back on before saying “Never say never”.

, February 16th 2017, George ‘The Animal’ Steel passed away at the age of 79 in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Steele was one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWF during the 1980s, and feuded with the likes of ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan and Bruno Sammartino. ‘The Animal’ was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the Class of 1995, and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in the Class of 2005.

, February 13th 1997, WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Lowell, Massachusetts. Shawn Michaels infamously cut a promo claiming he’d ‘lost his smile’, and vacated his WWF Championship, rather than go through with the original creative plans for him to face Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 in a rematch of their clash at Wrestlemania 12. Elsewhere on the show, Rocky Maivia (The Rock) won his first championship in WWF, defeating Hunter Hearst Helmsley for the Intercontinental Championship.

, February 10th 2003, Curt ‘Mr Perfect’ Hennig passed away in Brandon, Florida. During his career, Hennig was a one-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion, a one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion with Barry Windham, a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the Class of 2007, and the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in the Class of 2015. Hennig’s son (wrestling as Curtis Axel) won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in 2013, making them the first ever father-son duo to both win the Intercontinental Championship.

, February 9th 1998, WCW presented Nitro from El Paso, Texas. During the show, The Steiners defeated Kevin Nash and Scott Hall to win the WCW World Tag Team Championships. Also on the show, Steven Regal challenged Goldberg in Goldberg’s most competitive match up to that point, as the two were told to put on a competitive match rather than the traditional Goldberg squash match, leading to speculation that Regal was trying to embarrass Goldberg by out-wrestling him. In reality, Goldberg froze up at the beginning of the match and Regal had to talk him through the moves. goldberg95

, February 8th 2016, WWE presented Monday Night Raw from Seattle, Washington. The show featured Daniel Bryan announcing his retirement from professional wrestling, as a result of the cumulative effects of multiple concussions throughout his career. “Trust me, I don't want to be doing this any more than you guys want me to be doing this, but the truth is I've been wrestling since I was 18 years old. And within the first 5 months of my wrestling career, I'd already had 3 concussions. And for years after that, I would get a concussion here and there, or here or there. And then it gets to the point when you've been wrestling for 16 years, that adds up to a lot of concussions. And it gets to a point where they tell you that you can't wrestle anymore. And for a long time I've fought that because I had gotten EEGs and brain MRIs and neuropsychological evaluations, and all of them said this, that I was fine, and that I could come back and I could wrestle, and I trained like I would come back and I would wrestle, and I was ready at a moment's notice if WWE needed me, I wanted to come back and wrestle, because this. I have loved this in a way that I have never loved anything else… So it is with a heavy heart and the utmost sadness that I officially announce my retirement.”

The show featured seven televised matches including lucha libre legend Mil Mascaras vs Cactus Jack, The Steiner Brothers vs Doom (Ron Simmons and Butch Reed), and the main event of The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Ole and Arn Anderson) defeating Gary Hart International (The Dragonmaster, Buzz Sawyer and The Great Muta) in a steel cage match, with Sting arriving to brawl after being kicked out of The Horsemen.

, February 5th 1988, WWF presented The Main Event live from Indianapolis, Indiana. The event on NBC drew 33 million viewers and a 15.3 Nielson rating, both records for American wrestling on television. The show featured three televised matches, including Andre the Giant defeating Hulk Hogan to become the WWF Champion, and immediately surrendering it to Ted DiBiase, before Jack Tunney deemed the title as vacant. This led to a tournament at Wrestlemania IV to crown the new WWF Champion.

The show featured eight matches including Chris Benoit vs Al Snow, Shane Douglas vs Tully Blanchard for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship, Cactus Jack vs The Sandman, and the main event of Sabu and Taz (as The Tazmaniac) defeating The Public Enemy to win the ECW World Tag Team Championships.

, February 3rd 2019, WWE presented Halftime Heat for the first time in over 20 years. Taking place during the Super Bowl LIII halftime show, NXT presented a six-man tag team match that saw Aleister Black, Ricochet and Velveteen Dream defeat Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. This was only the third Halftime Heat show, and the first since 1999, where Mankind defeated The Rock in an empty arena match for the WWF Championship.

, February 2nd 2010, Vince McMahon announced that WWE’s revival of ECW would be cancelled, and would be replace by a new “groundbreaking, original show”, which was later announced as NXT. WWE’s ECW ran from June 13, 2006 until February 16, 2010, produced 3 pay-per-views, and was responsible for the WWE main roster debuts of CM Punk, Sheamus, Kofi Kingston, and Jack Swagger, among many others.

, February 1st 1993, Lex Luger- as The Narcissist- makes his in-ring debut for WWF, defeating Jason Knight in under three minutes on Monday Night Raw. Lex Luger would go on to win the 1994 Royal Rumble, as well as Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s ‘Most Popular Wrestler of the Year’ award in 1993.

, January 31st 2000, The Radicalz (Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn from WCW) debuted on WWF Monday Night Raw in one of the biggest defections of the Monday Night Wars. At the time of the defection, Chris Benoit was the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, WCW giving him a title win to convince him to stay with the company. Benoit and Guerrero would both go on to hold world titles in WWE, with Malenko and Saturn both earning secondary titles in the company.

Lynch is one of the ‘Four Horsewomen’ of WWE, and so far has earned 2 Raw Women’s Championships, 4 SmackDown Women’s Championships, and a Royal Rumble win. She won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s ‘Women’s Wrestling MVP’ Award for two consecutive years, in 2018 and 2019, and was in the first ever women’s match to main event a Wrestlemania.

The event featured the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match, with Asuka eliminating Nikki Bella to win the inaugural event, before Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut after the match. During the men’s Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio made his return to WWE, making a surprise appearance at number 27, before Shinsuke Nakamura eliminated Roman Reigns to win the match. At Wrestlemania 34, Asuka would fail to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship, losing to Charlotte Flair, and Nakamura would fail to win the WWE Championship, losing to AJ Styles. rondarousey

, January 27th 2013, WWE presented the Royal Rumble pay-per-view from Phoenix, Arizona. In the main event, The Rock defeated CM Punk for the WWE Championship, ending Punk’s 434-day reign. During the Royal Rumble, John Cena eliminated Ryback to win the match, and would go on to defeat The Rock at Wrestlemania 29, becoming an 11-time WWE Champion.

During the men’s Royal Rumble match, Edge returned to wrestling, after being retired for 9 years, making a surprise appearance at number 21. Drew McIntyre eliminated Roman Reigns to win the men’s Rumble, and Charlotte Flair eliminated Shayna Baszler to win the women’s Rumble. At Wrestlemania 36, McIntyre would defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, and Flair would defeat Rhea Ripley for the NXT Championship.

, January 25th 2015, WWE presented the Royal Rumble pay-per-view from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the Royal Rumble match, Bubba Ray Dudley made his return to WWE, making a surprise appearance at number 3, before Roman Reigns eliminated Rusev to win the match. The fan reaction to Reigns’ win was so negative, The Rock made an appearance to endorse Roman Reigns in an attempt to appease the crowd. Reigns would go on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 31, before being pinned by Seth Rollins during his successful Money in the Bank cash-in.

Day, January 24th 2016, WWE presented the Royal Rumble pay-per-view from Orlando, Florida. During the Royal Rumble match, AJ Styles made his WWE debut, making a surprise appearance at number 3. Triple H eliminated Dean Ambrose to win the match and the WWE Championship, becoming a 14-time World Champion. He would hold the title for 70 days before dropping it to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 32.

, January 23rd 1984, Hulk Hogan won his first ever WWF Championship, after defeating the Iron Sheik at Madison Square Garden. He would hold the title for 1,474 days (4 years and 13 days) before dropping it to Andre the Giant. Hogan would go on to hold the WWE Championship six times in total.

, January 22nd 2020, AEW presented Dynamite from the , where Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page defeated SCU to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Omega and Page would hold the titles for 228 days before dropping them to FTR at All Out.
