I hesitate to bring this up because I know it could negatively impact my business, but since this is the second time it’s happened with the same group of people and the same so-called florist, I feel it’s important to address. I’ve tried my best to remain professional, but I don’t want other florists to go through the same situation.
I should have learned my lesson after the first time, but as a small business, I genuinely gave them the benefit of the doubt by fulfilling their request again.
I wouldn’t mind if they had never initially requested my services but still ended up using my pictures for someone else to recreate the arrangements. In that case, I’d be fine with it as long as they liked my arrangements and preferred to have them made by another florist. I appreciate the compliments on my work. However, in this situation, and in a previous one, it’s frustrating to be asked for my services, business page, and photos, only to have the arrangements made by a different florist using my pictures. I would’ve been completely fine if they communicated with me that they found someone else or asked if it was okay to use my pictures for another florist to recreate the arrangements. Transparency from the start would have been appreciated. Please be mindful and respectful by not asking me to send all my product photos, only to turn around and give the job to someone else. I understand that I don’t have a logo on my arrangement photos to avoid copyright issues, but it’s still very rude for another florist to replicate the exact same arrangement after I’ve shared the photos with you because the person, you’re working with lacks the expertise. I understand that business is competitive, and we’re all working hard to gain customers. However, at the very least, I’d appreciate clear communication from the beginning. If you decided to go a different route, it would have been helpful to let me know. It wouldn’t have been an issue at all. Everyone has their own way of doing business, and I respect that. But when I’m left in the dark, it wastes my time and time is money. I ask that you treat small businesses with kindness and respect. I'm working hard to make a living just like everyone. Your lack of communication has cost me business, and I don’t want this to happen to any other small business. Please, be considerate moving forward. Thank you to all my customers for your continued support. May God bless each and every one of you.
