We have all gone to weddings and admired the decor, bridesmaids dresses, music selection, etc. What we don't always realize is that behind the scenes, it took months and time to create such beauty and lasting memories. In doing so, it's rarely easy, especially going at it alone or without the assistance of an event planner. Hey engaged couples! Still looking for that perfect venue? So often I'm asked these questions, "Where do we begin and how do we pick a venue?" Great place to start and the most important! All aspects of wedding planning is significant, from decor to food to flowers, and so on. However, booking a location first will give you a real sense of how creative and beautiful your wedding day can be. Also keeping in mind that most of the popular venues/locations book quickly.
Begin with the season you would like to get married in.
Is it Spring, when the weather is comfortable with lots of gorgeous, sunny skies and beautifully grown landscapes? How about Summer? A great travel time for family and friends. There are several outdoor choices that are perfect for a garden or beach wedding. Could it be a crisp cool Fall wedding? My favorite time of year, still bringing in those vibrant colors from Spring. Or perhaps a Winter wonderland to continue the holiday cheer?
Once you've decided on the season, it's usually easier to pick a date. Think of a particular theme, colors, and decor you would like. What's your idea location, city, area? Are you interested in a ballroom, garden, cathedral, church, rooftop, beach? The possibilities are endless, but once you have an idea of what you want, it's easier to narrow down the perfect venue for your wedding day!

"The venue I have chosen has a coordinator, why do I need to hire a wedding planner?"
Most venues have a venue coordinator on site to assist you on your wedding day. Their main responsibility is to the venue and not the bride or wedding party. A venue coordinator usually makes sure the tables and chairs are set up correctly and the food is served on time. Typically their day is done at the start of the reception. They do not know the ends and outs of your entire day and are not responsible for setting up decor or making sure it's taken down at the end of your wedding. A wedding planner will be right by your side months before your big day and throughout the entire wedding. She/he is also responsible for managing all details, logistics, timelines and vendors. Simply put, a venue coordinator works for the venue. A wedding planner works for you to ensure a successful day.
