Variegated Eureka Pink Lemon & Variegated Volkeriama Lemon 🍋

There are many ways variegation can present itself in plants. Chimeric is the most common, where a mutation produces multiple genotype tissues. Pattern-gene variegation presents naturally and is permanent and consistent. Blister variegation occurs when a plant forms air pockets in the leaves that may reflect light. Viral is one to watch out for, a plant can even show new colors if it is sick. Add in descriptory terms such as inner / outer, reverse or albomarginata... It can be a lot to take in! ☯️

Bowiea Volubilis, also known as the Climbing Onion, got a new trellis today. 🧅 PSA: Give your vining plants something to grab onto before they start taking over your greenhouse, so you don't have to get frustrated trying to untangle them from a bunch of other plants later. 😜

Dockrillia lichenastrum surprised me with a gorgeous miniature bloom today! These are an Australian orchid that is a lithophyte, meaning they grow on rocks. It has branching rhizomes that produce succulent, close-set, cylindrical pseudobulbs. 🥰
