Do you like this Wishing Tree?
I had the privilege to be part of a Naming Day Ceremony, for a little girl with a Wishing Tree as part of the ceremony.
The family and friends wrote their wishes, hopes, and dreams
for this lovely little girl.
The Wishes will be kept as a memento and presented to her on her
18th birthday.
Wishing trees are recognised in several cultures around the world
as the tree is a universal symbol of life, strength, wisdom and longevity.
Would you have a wishing tree for your wedding, naming ceremony, anniversary, or birthday?

Couples leap through the embers.
An act of union, hand in hand to bless their fortune, fertility and happiness.
A season for courting, flower gathering, parties and marriage.

What do you think about a Christmas wedding?
Depending on what side of the world you are in, would it be a summer or winter Christmas wedding?
A time of year with an instant FESTIVE atmosphere,
Here are a few Christmassy things to consider.
1. Be festive and fabulous
2.Find your festive style - so many outfits are perfect for Christmas weddings, especially sparkly ones.
3. Do be merry with your make-up
4. Look for a venue that's cosy and bright for that winter wedding, or that beach or park venue for that summer Christmas wedding.
5. Always factor in plans for the weather - have a plan B.
6. Set the tone with Christmas themed stationary
7. Go to town with Christmas decor and deck the halls.
Many venues may already have a tree and fairy lights.
8. Serve festive food
9. Choose flowers that are in season
10.Don't forget the favours - personalised crackers , or baubles for your guests.
11. Add a Christmas dress code on your invites
12. Make a stylish exit with a parade of sparklers.

Love and Marriage through wartime...
Unsure of what their future would be, overcoming obstacles, restrictions, rationing, with ingenuity and creativity on the way to the altar.
A time to grab happiness where you could with the help of family, friends and their communities.
On the 31st of January 1942 Italy, four soldiers at war on the front were married to their wives by long distance, said I do by radio transmission. The picture shows the wedding procession of the brides being accompanied to the church by members of the army.
This WW1 wedding postcard photo, circa 1918 England of
Husband in Army uniform and wife wearing a beautiful veil and headdress carrying a bouquet.

We will remember them.

Something WICKED this way comes.......
What is the first thing you think of when you hear "Halloween"?
For me......
It is believed the boundary between worlds of the living and the dead become blurred.

Handfasting
What is a Handfasting Ceremony?
It is an ancient Celtic ritual in which hands a tied together to symbolise the binding and unity of two lives.
How does it work?
The Celebrant explains the purpose of the ritual, the couple joins hands, the cords are wrapped around their hands.
the celebrant reads vows and explains what the binding symbolises,
the couple may exchange additional vows.
In medieval tradition the couple would remain bound together till midnight, today you can remove the tie during the ceremony.
Try to slip the cord off with the tie intact.
You have a keepsake as a reminder of your wedding ceremony.
Would you consider a handfasting for your wedding or vow renewal?
Let me know what you think.

Who will you have as part of your wedding ceremony?
My lovely couple Lauren and Cameron were married in 2019, their ceremony was a very personal and family oriented.
The bridal party were cousins, friends and their very much loved pet Luna. Each parent was involved binding a ribbon around Lauren and Cameron hands as part of a Handfasting ceremony,
the couple writing their own personal vows.
But it was their witnesses that made it more personal and special with Laurens "Nonna" and Camerons "Pa " (the grandparents)
signing the certificates.
A wedding with 3 generations involved as part of a ceremony.
Send me a message tell me what you think.
