New Jersey, we hear you! Keep that freestyle training going! NJWAY is working with multiple venues and tournament operators in an effort to fix the debacle that was the Freestyle State Championships for the women's brackets. Currently, we are trying to secure a site that can hold four mats for the weekend of June 11 or June 18th, so don't stop training freestyle!

No longer will we allow members of the wrestling community to treat women's wrestling as a "nuisance". NJWAY is a proponent of all wrestlers and will always strive to provide an equally competitive event for them. Please be patient as we work out the details and if we are able to pull this off on such a short notice, we will notify you immediately.

We sympathize with the female wrestlers in our state that have been slighted at the state Folkstyle and freestyle tournaments. Decisions like these should never have been made, and even though it's not our organization that has caused this mess, we take great pride in being the ones to try to correct it.

NJWAY is hosting its inaugural New Jersey Women's Wrestling State Championship in Atlantic City, NJ at Tropicana Hotel & Casino on Sunday January 29, 2023! Two Styles - One Day! Folkstyle and Freestyle championships!

Here is where preparation meets opportunity! All weight class champions will receive a medal (top 6 recognized) and FREE entry into the 2023 NUWAY Summer Nationals! That's right - WE SAID FREE!
