Welcome to the Summer of Kindness!
PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS & NETWORKS

Inspired by Whats Your 50?, we are participating in fifty philanthropic activities. You can help! Zoe will be hosting a FREE lemonade stand on June 16th, 12pm-2pm at 7450 Mink Hollow Road, Highland, MD. Anyone who stops by will receive a free lemonade and free lemonade plushie. She asks that you bring an item we can donate to one of the kids selected organizations. Our goal is to donate fifty items to each of the non-profits listed below. If you live out of the area or can’t make it to Zoe’s Lemonade Stand, we have set up an Amazon Wish List for easy donations. Items on the wish list start at only $2.50.

Other activities we are working on include a clean-up day at on the Patuxent River, a book donation and Taegen will be painting with seniors at an assisted living facility in Olney. We have also challenged the kids (and ourselves) to complete 50 random acts of kindness that present themselves in the moment. Since we just started this adventure, if you work with any groups that have family volunteer opportunities in Howard or Montgomery counties, let me know.

A few of the organizations we are supporting this summer:

Bethesda Cares, Inc – Supporting the homeless population. My kids will be making 50 snack packs that they will distribute at The Church in Bethesda. Any individually packaged snacks can be accepted. Recommended ideas from our contact at Bethesda Cares include trail mix, jerky snack packs, chips, fruit snacks.

The Napkin Network – Provides diapers and baby supplies to those in need. Lindsay tells us they need all-sized diapers, but mostly in need of 5, 6, and pull-ups. Overnights are preferred. They also need wipes, bathwash, shampoo and conditioner for babies and moms.

I Support the Girls – Provides menstrual products, bras and underwear to those in need. While our Amazon list wish includes only tampons and pads, you are welcome to drop off new packages of underwear and sports bras in any size.

Howard County Food Bank – Located in Columbia, MD. We had the opportunity to donate over 2000lbs of canned food to them from an event in 2022 and love their team. As we enter summer, they are currently looking for snacks, cereal, canned pasta products (Spaghetti-Os), canned proteins (tuna) and they have said there is always a demand for boxes of pasta and sauce.
