Let's talking budget! As a wedding planner, we would love nothing more than to have a consultation with a newly engaged couple and when asked about their budget they say that it is "unlimited" or "we don't have one, but we just want it to beautiful no matter the cost." Unfortunately, this is not the case for every engaged couple. Here are some key pointers to help you feel better prepared and more confident in budgeting for your special day!

1) Start with a Realistic Overall Budget-

Determine what you can afford and what you're comfortable spending before you begin planning. Be realistic about your total budget to avoid any financial stress down the line.

2) Break It Down by Categories-

Divide your budget into categories (venue, catering, dress, photographer, etc.). This helps you see where your money is going and ensures no category is overlooked.

3) Prioritize Essentials First-

Focus on the things that are most important to you as a couple. If photography or the venue is your top priority, allocate a larger portion of your budget there, and adjust others accordingly.

4) Account for Hidden Costs -

Don’t forget about those small but important extras—gratuities, taxes, parking, or travel costs for your guests. These can add up quickly, so be sure to include them in your budget.

5) Stay Flexible and Adjust-

BRIDES-2-BE!

The "Bustle Hustle" is important on wedding day! It allows the bride to move comfortably during the reception without dragging the train or having a major faux pas as they are entering into their reception. I witnessed an anxious bride lose it while everyone (planners, MOB & maid of honors) try to bustle her dress before her 1st dance with her new husband. The issue was... SHE DIDN’T WANT ANYONE THERE WITH HER WHEN SHE PICKED UP HER DRESS FROM THE SEAMSTRESS!

Here are a few takeaways:

1) Bring someone from your bridal party with you to your dress fittings & alterations!

2) If someone isn't available to come with you, have your seamstress record how to do your bustle properly! No one wants a big ol hunk of fabric hanging on their behind

3) Get a planner who will make sure to have "dress bustling" on your wedding day timeline so you won't be rushed on your special day!
