We need your feedback! By spending 5 minutes to fill out the survey helps us improve future events!

We had such a great time (despite the issues from others) and we can't wait for next year to listen to what you enjoyed and how to make it better for next year!

An enormous thank you to every single person that attended the march on Saturday.

It was deeply moving to see so many people turn up for Trans Rights despite the far right. We made ourselves seen and heard in Manchester on mass and it was a beautiful display of solidarity.

We know it was a highly stressful day for everyone involved, but felt safe and loved throughout the day. A massive thanks to everyone who also supported from home!

From all of the TPM team, thank you so so much ❤️🏳️‍⚧️

It has been brought to our attention that there is potentially going to be a far right group protesting outside Piccadilly Train Station from 10am. We are keeping an eye on it if anything were to escalate, but we haven't heard anything to suggest that is likely. Stand Up To Racism are holding a counter protest to the far right group.

We're making this announcement so that you can reconsider any travel plans involving Piccadilly Station. We recommend travelling in groups or with a friend. Do things that make you feel safe. (We know it’s hard as trans people in everyday life and we are always keeping ourselves as safe as possible!)

The closest transport stops in comparison to the starting location (Castlefield Urban Heritage Park) are:

Bus: Deansgate Station (stop A & B) - 6 minute walk
Tram: Deansgate-Castlefield - 6 minute walk
Train: Deansgate - 5 min walk. There are connecting trains from Piccadilly to Deansgate every 5 minutes or so.
From Victoria station, you can either walk to Exchange Square and take the tram (pink or green line) to Deansgate-Castlefield, or take two Bee Network free buses: route 2 from Victoria to King Street and then route 1 from King Street to Liverpool Road. The trams on each line are scheduled every 12 minutes, and the buses every 10 minutes, but it isn't uncommon for there to be delays.

Trans Pride 2024: Official Viewing Area 🏳️‍⚧️

📆 Sat 3rd August
📍Sackville Gardens, M1 3WA
⏰ We estimate the march will pass by between 12:40 - 12:55

We recognise that not everyone wants to or feels comfortable marching through the city centre. That's why this year we've designated Sackville Gardens as a viewing area so you can watch us go by and still be part of the action!

This wonderful Lizzie (they/them) from will be here throughout the march as well! ☺️

Today the organisers walked the final route of the march: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2c5WD1YEFB8odFt18 (We'd only been able to publicise the final route last Friday because the council wanted us to make changes; sorry about that.)

The full march will start from Castlefield Urban Heritage Park. Gather from 11:00 this Saturday to hear the speakers starting at 11:30, and then the march will set off at 12:00.

On the day I'll be waiting at the intersection of Chorlton Street and Canal Street, which is where people who need a shorter route will be meeting. Then we'll be leading the march from that point on, to make sure that it isn't going too fast for people with mobility impairments. I made a video of me walking that section: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/qrz73nrm4n4d2d6zxbliq/Shorter-route-2024.mp4?rlkey=d8b8a59u85rx2tntdr7x05xv4&st=w8zzstlv&dl=0 Note that the accessible route is shorter this year, and people are welcome to join at any earlier point depending on their accessibility needs.

There's a lot to protest about. Wear masks if you can (COVID's not over and we need to defend the right to mask) and sunscreen (the weather forecast is uncertain but I'm hoping for a rainbow). See you on Saturday!

Trans Pride 2024: Comedy Night Lineup 🎤🏳️‍⚧️

Roo (they/them) specialises in mining every embarrassing or traumatic event in their life for laughs. Their style is described as "dark subjects in a terrifyingly upbeat yet wonderfully charming manner."

Ben Hodge (he/him) is a comedian, presenter, and storyteller once described as "relatable... yet infinitely self-aware." He runs the monthly comedy night at Q***r Lit / Social Refuge.

Hey folks we're really sorry for the delay in releasing key information.

Despite having 5 months' notice, at the exceptionally last minute, the big powers of Manchester have objected to our march route. We're working really hard and as quickly as we can to reach a solution but are still waiting on our final go-ahead from local authorities.

What we can confirm:
- ALL inside events remain unchanged and unaffected.
- We will NOT be starting or ending at St Peter's Square
- There will STILL BE a shorter accessible route
- The day will STILL begin from 11:30AM

We cannot apologise enough for the delay! We recognise how frustrating this is for attendees and as neurodivergent people we're feeling it ourselves. We have given a deadline by EOD Friday at which point we'll release our route regardless.
