The last few weeks have been a time for adjustments, pauses, perspective, sadness, celebration, and lots of weeding and watering.
I lost my great-uncle on Tuesday evening after we saw him for the last time on Sunday. Seeing that glimmer in his eyes as he looked at each of us for what was most likely the last time, was heartbreaking and humbling. He lived a life surrounded by nature, his family and friends, & always had an orneriness about him with kids that would make us all eager for an 'Uncle Herman adventure'. And as my one cousin put it, he just met children where they were at in those moments. The sunsets since then have been beautiful and cause me to pause in my haste to get it all done outside before bedtime, with last night's being especially amazing.
Thankful for all of the prayers for my husband & he is on the mend thanks to a positive attitude, acupuncture, and the help of good old vitamin D on days like today when he finally got out to plant the last of the tomatoes he started from seed. Fourteen years ago today, we were married in the beautiful mountains of Sonoma, CA at a winery. Thankful each and every day for him, the family we have, and his support for my business!
As for what's blooming: I have feverfew, yarrow, snapdragons, rudbeckia, bupleurum, lavender, and a few others showing their beautiful colors. I currently have enough for a few $15 pint size mason jar arrangements for pre-order to pick up tomorrow or Sunday. They will be similar to the one pictured here and can be ordered by sending me a message.
As a side note, if you are celebrating your Dad on Sunday, give him an extra squeeze as I wish mine was still here to do the same. Have a great weekend! 💙
