Who has an appreciation for hand-cut ingredients? Every time I go to the store I take a look at the pre-cut onions, peppers, etc that have been mangled by some commercial food processor. What do they all have in common? Low quality cuts, less nutritional value, and less flavor! Do you ever purchase these for convenience? I know I have! Sure, they might be fine for cooking as they’ll get cooked down, but what about recipes that call for raw veggies like a fresh salsa or salad? & yes cutting your own produce is cheaper ( I am a huge advocate for learning knife skills) but I know from experience that knives make people uncomfortable for a multitude of reasons. We are going to try selling pre-cut vegetables this week at Local Roots using ingredients from their locally sourced market. If you’re someone who enjoys the convenience of precut ingredients, swing by and see what we have!
