So the wedding plans got quashed but the marriage didn’t !

These two lovely people knew one thing for sure and that was they believed in their love for each other and spending lock down apart was not happening !

By the skin of their teeth they got MARRIED with just their parents as witness’s and the WEDDING is to come !

TODAY HAS BEEN A GREAT DAY ❤️

The first BROKEN WEDDING DREAM that we took on outside of all of our own couples is properly put back together !

We started with a load of Lego blocks and had no real idea of how we were going to find anything to salvage! The fact was this couple had less than 24 hours notice that their wedding could not go ahead !

After a bucket load of tears, a million phone calls and e-mails plus a lot of begging for help we finally got the insurance pay out!

Less than a month since it all fell apart we have a new plan in place for a very different wedding .... every supplier is booked and deposited, the honeymoon is refunded and a we have a bride with a smile on her face and a groom who we physically heard sigh ...although we still can’t hug them ! 💔

WHEN HAVE YOU HAD SO MUCH TIME TO BE CREATIVE?

We feel so incredibly lucky because as a creative bunch we never get time to plan and to play with new ideas. So we are using every second we have been given to explore the ideas we have had and have been trying to do for years!

The challenges of 2020 just show you how resourceful you can be, how beautiful the things you never have time to notice are and how grateful you become for the little things in life that you normally take for granted.

Broken Wedding Dreams was created when the “reality” suddenly hit us of how many couples were faced with challenges that they had no idea how to unknot!

The heartbreak of having to cancel their day, to not be able to marry the person they wanted to
be with for the rest of their lives and to have all their dreams shattered just like that in one moment. How on this earth could they be expected to take it all in and sort it all out?

Individually we design, create and build wedding dreams every day of our lives. We have an incredible amount of knowledge, we have one of the strongest networks of talented individuals, and incredible suppliers to source virtually everything you could ever want for a wedding. Plus believe us, over the years we have pretty much managed our way out of every possible challenge from beginning to end!

The only difference here is we normally start at the beginning of an idea and now we are coming in at the end!

The last 4 weeks have been challenging, between us we have cancelled, postponed and re-arranged so many weddings in the UK and abroad. We have learnt a lot about things we did not want to have to learn about, but we are here now armed with even more skills and knowledge that we can use to support even more people, who are faced with this difficult situation and decisions they never wanted to make !

We understand so many of the complicated aspects, from how to handle insurance claims, take over difficult conversations, manage complicated date changes, enter into new contracts, co-ordinate location moves, work with existing suppliers and introduce new and exciting ones.

So we now consider ourselves officially wedding dream
re-builders ! From the end to the beginning and back again!

So much excitement, years of planning and now so many tears.

2020 has proved to be the year of heartbreak, disappointment and “broken wedding dreams.”

So who are we? Broken Wedding Dreams are a bunch of incredibly experienced wedding designers and planners who have been individually working in the wedding industry for over 25 years! Most importantly we are all professionals and friends! We have laughed together, cried together and played together and now we are staying together to try to help you guys sort all this out !

Until “this” we really thought that between us there was nothing we had not encountered before and nothing that we had not managed to fix that we had been asked to or found ourselves having to! The only difference here is that non of us have been here before but WE know we can help you mend that broken dream and give you something new, exciting and fun to look forward to, while WE work out how navigate through the broken pieces, save what is wanted and mitigate the losses from what’s not.

While social media is a fabulous tool when you are exited, it’s also a constant reminder of what is not going to happen for you when you had planned it. Seeing all those wonderful images, that make you happy-sad ! Sad that everything feels broken, happy you have lots to look forward to, worried about what’s going on in the world and right now your stuck in the middle of “not quite sure”.

Things have changed. This not so welcome gift of time has given you the chance to think about what’s broken and how you want to fix it. What’s important and what’s not.

Then there so are many couples who had weddings booked abroad, what seemed like a great idea at the time is perhaps not quite so good now !

Faced with the excitement having gone, your bouncing between church, registrar suppler, venue, insurance company, international wedding planner, honeymoon specialist and lots of other general junk to unravel! We can hear you wanting to scream !

This is where we come in!
