This gorgeous tutu is making its debut this weekend. A joy to make and there is one very happy young dancer who is in love with her tutu and ready to shine on stage.
The bodice is fully lined and made with a beautiful aqua coloured lycra, with contrasting white lace detail. The 8 layer skirt features some aqua net and the same white lace.
Decorative flowers, rhinestones and pearls in aqua and white colours complete the look and add the sparkle. ✨

The brief for this costume was Malificent and it looks magnificent on her dancer.
Black leather look Lycra and purple mesh (Malificent colours) work together with a style that contours the dancers body beautifully. The collar resembles the whole theme of Malificent. Surprised myself with this one, can’t wait to see it on stage 😁

A stunning royal blue lyrical costume about to hit the stage. Made especially for Emmy with a beautiful feature being lace that was also used in her tutu a few years ago.
This colour looks fabulous on Emmy and the halter two piece has a lycra base with lace, mesh and adorned with flowers plus a mix of blue AB & AB crystals giving just the right amount of sparkle. 💙

Fully lined Black and Red Lycra base with mesh detail front and featuring strong shoulder look. It is absolutely stunning on, her dancer and I can’t wait to see it bedazzled and on stage.

White and Gold is a stunning colour combination.
This lycra, mesh and chiffon tap costume features a flounce sleeve and beautiful gold sequin appliqués. It has double layer full circle skirt.
Ruby Iooks stunning in this costume and it was a pleasure to bring her vision to life.

A combined effort went into this beautiful gold costume which features a chiffon skirt with spaghetti straps. I made the costume base and Ava’s talented Mum decorated it with flowers & bling.

It’s time I had destash of my sewing room therefore I will be having a stall at the Fabric-A-Brac event in Christchurch on Saturday 11th May. It may interest a few of you as I will be selling dance fabrics, lace trims, appliqués and other haberdashery items.

This delicate tiny tutu has just put a huge smile on her dancers face. It’s been a joy to make and see the vision come to life.
Beautiful buttercream lycra with gold appliqués, cream and gold trim and for that added sparkle, red and gold crystal rhinestones.
The skirt features 8 layers of matching cream net with hoop and decorated plate.

I’m not going to say what character this costume is for but it fits the brief 😊
Fully lined buttercream leo with a double layer chiffon skirt and matching lace sleeve with just the right amount of decorative detail on the front.

My mannequin doesn’t do this costume justice (not the right size) as this costume looks amazing on her dancer.

Congratulations to The Winner of the Christchurch Ballet Society’s South Island Ballet 2023 Audience Choice Award, Charlotte Gray - Southern Ballet School.
The audience voted for the dancer who impressed them technically and with performance.
Charlotte was a joy to watch and lit up the stage and was the recipient of Audience Choice Award trophy & $200 prize.
