We're transforming Riley-Smith Hall into a Vintage Christmas Market for Hit The North Christmas Fair on Sat 16th November 2024.

Here's what to expect:

⁍ Two Floors packed with vintage clothing from the 1940s - 1990s
⁍ Cool Vintage Homeware / Furniture / Bric-a-Brac
⁍ Free Mulled Wine! (one mug per adult)
⁍ Licensed Bar
⁍ Cafe with Christmas Treats, Gourmet Cakes, Teas, Coffee etc.
⁍ German Sausages
⁍ Music
⁍ Free Parking opposite the event at Central Area Carpark

Did you know our fabulous venue in Tadcaster, the Riley-Smith Hall is celebrating its 100th year this year? Originally intended to be called the “Victory Hall”. It’s a breathtaking space with a long history. We can’t wait to be bringing some of the most fabulous vintage to the hall again, this time in its centenary year! ❤️

Riley-Smith Hall celebrates its centenary

The Riley-Smith Hall in Tadcaster turns 100 this year and to mark the occasion, the venue is launching a special programme of centenary events. The celebrations commence this Saturday 10th February with a charity concert by the Shepherd Group Concert Band who will perform a programme of upbeat, popular songs including music from Abba, Michael Jackson and Queen. The band’s MD, Mike Pratt, describes his concert as “not at all what you expect from a brass band”. Proceeds from the concert will be split between the Brain Tumour Charity and the Riley-Smith Hall Centenary Fund (which has been set up to fund accessibility improvements at the hall).

The Riley-Smith Hall Charitable Company owns and operates the popular community venue. The hall is a huge asset to Tadcaster and the small town is extremely fortunate to have such a well-designed and elegant community venue.The hall is visited by approximately 1,000 people each week, of all ages and for a variety of events including music, dance, education and theatre. Our centenary events programme has been in the planning for some time and we look forward to revealing the full programme at the concert this weekend.

What an epic day. We’re now into the last hour of Hit the North Vol. 1

We like to thank everyone who made it down. It was what we call ‘a r**t good turnout’.
