December 20, 2023…3rd Song-post in tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

When I first saw the title for this song, I thought it was Johnny Reid doing his version of the Mariah Carey Christmas song “All I Want For Christmas Is You”…I just figured someone accidentally forget to write the last two words.

Well…as soon as it started to play, and I heard it was slow, not up-tempo…I figured he really changed the song, and “made it his own” style!

But then the lyrics started, telling a very different message…one of how someone feels on a Christmas missing someone…someone that has left…through death, through a break-up, through a move too far away.

The feeling of being ALONE at Christmas is something that MANY, MANY people have gone through.

This song is very powerful…and can really pull at your heart.

Especially, when he gets to the very last line in the song…
“All I want for Christmas…is for my Heart…to UN-break!”

December 20, 2023…1st Song-post in tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

There will not be a common “theme” tonight.

BUT…there will be a common SINGER!!

Back in August, I did a Tribute to this singer…a singer that has been recording since 1997, and put out 13 albums.

Among those albums are 2 that are Christmas albums.

I discovered one of this singer’s NON-Christmas songs in 2009, and listened to a couple others back then, and that was it.

THEN…SUDDENLY…a year and a half ago, in May of 2022, I heard another one, and another, and another…and was blown away by each one…so I went on an active search for the rest of May, and all of June…and discovered over 75 songs…and that was only about HALF of his recorded songs!

I also found some of his Christmas songs…and right away I knew, that I would be including some of those into this year’s Festival.

Soooo…THAT is what tonight will be about.

BUT…while each song is being sung by the same singer tonight…his styles, and genres, for each song will be different…and they will have their own unique sounds. So, it might even sound to you like it is someone different for each song.

The first song will be an UP-tempo FUN song in a Pop style.

Sorry, there is no video…there will be for some of the other songs coming up!

December 19, 2023…5th (and final) Song-post in tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

There will be TWO videos in this post…the main featured one…and a SECOND one in the first comment under this post…don’t forget to check out the one in the first comment also!!!

I have known this song for at least a dozen years…and yet, somehow, I have always forgotten to feature it in my Annual Christmas Songs Festival.

Something made me think of it last year at work…not the radio…it just popped into my head…I don’t know what made me think of it!!

BUT…a message came with it…a voice whispered to me…”play this Christmas song this year…someone needs to hear this.”

I have no idea who needs to hear this…but I followed instructions then…and I am featuring it again this year!

TRUE STORY!!

And one more note on this song…the “YOUTH” theme…it starts out when Brad was a 13-year old boy performing on-stage, this song he wrote. And at the 2:08 mark, the audio transitions to an adult Brad singing this song in a recording studio.

This whole thing reminds me of a certain group that I love…The Bennett Hall Band…three young sisters…15, 14, & 11 years old…who sing, play instruments, and write songs also, and have been in-studio a lot this year recording their music…on their way to becoming “Stars On Stage”.

I featured a song from The Bennett Hall Band on the first night of this Festival…a Christmas song they wrote, recorded, and just released as a single a year ago…”When My Savior Was Born”.

Amazing that the song from The Bennett Hall Band and the song from Brad Paisley have similar themes.

The first three songs tonight were a common theme…”HOME” for Christmas.

But these final songs will be about “YOUTH”…young people starting in the music industry, and becoming Stars!

We start this “YOUTH” theme with a girl who first hit the music charts, came when she was only 13 years old!!!

She actually got her first recording contract, and had her first radio hit on the charts…”Blue”…hit both the Country AND the Pop charts…when she was only 13 years old!

She won her first talent contest when she was only 5 years old!

She won the National TV show “Star Search” when she was only 8 years old!!!

And when this singer recorded this song, she was still only 15 years old!

December 19, 2023…3rd Song-post in tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

There are TWO videos here…one in the main feature, that shows beautiful scenes…and the SECOND one in the first comment below this post, showing the band perform it “live”.

This song tells the difference between L.A. and Colorado at Christmas-time.

I know some people like the sun and warm weather for the Holidays…and I know that some people don’t think it is very “Christmas-y” if there is no snow!

I guess, speaking as someone who has lived my entire life in UP-State New York, only about 20 minutes from the beginning of the Adirondack Mountains…I much prefer the snow for Christmas…to help put me in the “spirit”…hahahahaha!

This song is bringing the theme back to the beginning…going home for the Holidays!

In fact, that will be the theme for the first three songs tonight…”HOME” for Christmas!

This is by a group that many Americans are NOT familiar with.

I try to change that within my little “circle of friends”…because this group is extremely popular around the world…they have had numerous radio hits go TOP 10…and all the way to #1 also…in a bunch of countries.

This particular song is one of the rare songs where the women are NOT the featured lead vocal.

And like the group that I featured in last night’s first three song-posts, the Tractors…this group’s Christmas album is one of my all-time favorite Christmas albums…nice catchy melodies, and UP-tempo happy lyrics!

“How can you HATE someone who is GOOD TO YOU?!”

A true story...ACTUAL HISTORY!!

This really happened!

In one of the world's worst wars...WORLD WAR ONE!!!

German and English soldiers, had been fighting each other...following the orders of their leaders.

BUT...not on Christmas Eve 1914.

I have been talking about this story with several different people the past few days.

The PEOPLE of the world CAN get along...and can have TRUE WORLD PEACE!!

It is the governments and politicians of the world that can NOT!

Some accounts say this “Christmas truce” lasted until Christmas Day was over…some say it lasted a week…some say it was in multiple places in the trenches in Europe.

After 1914, in following Christmases, some soldiers tried to do it again…it was the leaders who forbid it to happen!!

Their reasoning?

“How can you HATE someone that is your friend…how can you KILL someone...how can you call someone your enemy…that you had GOOD TIMES WITH?”

It’s the leaders…its ALWAYS the LEADERS…the ones who stir up the trouble, and sit back and watch US DESTROY each other!!

EXACTLY! I've been saying that for decades.

I'm so tired of all the fighting...between countries, between politicians, between neighbors, between family members, between friends...just sick & tired of ALL OF IT!!

I have never figured out "WHY?!" Some people just are not happy unless they are angry!

If two people are friends, and do things always nice for each other…then how can they end up hating and losing that relationship, no matter what level it is…friends, lovers, married, whatever!

Let’s see…can I find one more “rocker” for tonight?

In fact, can I find one featuring a GIRL SINGER?

We haven’t featured a girl tonight…but can we find a girl doing a Christmas song that “ROCKS”??

Ahhhh…I found one!!!

Now this lady is a Country singer…BUT…she definitely “ROCKS” in this song!!

The song starts out slow, soft, and kind of sultry…BUT…the tempo kicks into high-gear about 42 seconds into the song!!

And at the 1:04 mark, the DRUMS KICK IN…and it’s high energy the rest of the way!!

This song has a great slow sax in the beginning…and a great “rockin’” sax solo later in the middle of the song.

The beginning lyrics:

“I wrote a letter to Santa last night,
I told him what I want to make my Christmas right;
If I don’t get, I’m gonna be blue,
I want a rockin’ little Christmas with you!”

It is a Country Christmas song from 1984…although it is definitely Pop-influenced…it would be part of the “Countrypolitan” style from the early-to-mid-80’s.

This lady’s best-known radio hit would be “Baby I Lied”…a Top 10 Country song, and Top 10 on the Adult chart, and Top 20 on the Hot 100 Pop chart.

December 18, 2023…2nd Song-post in tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

This is the second song from the group The Tractors also.

This song is actually a parody of their own song…a Country hit from 1995 called “Baby Likes To Rock It”. That same year, they released a Christmas album…and this song was one of those…and so was the previous song.

In fact, this whole album is one of my favorite Christmas albums…mostly uptempo songs!!

My oldest son (33 years old) also likes this album.

And three years ago, my son’s then 1-year old son (he’s 4 years old now) was sitting on my lap in my music room, as I was preparing this Christmas Songs Special…and he was bouncing to the beat of this song…hahahahaha! It must be in the genes!!

So, for this song…just like the previous song from them…something really special.

This one also shows LOTS of LIGHTS…but since the song is about Santa using a TRAIN instead of his sleigh…the lights are on the TRAIN!!

And if you look real close, and real quick…at the 1:57—1:59 mark, you might see Santa inside the train car!

As I said in the story with my first song-post tonight…this song will be a newer singer.

She just started hitting the music charts in 2018…and has had some major success in many countries with her songs.

This song was released just before Christmas of 2020…so it is only 3 years old.

I have a friend on here that first introduced me to other hits by this artist, because one of her daughters likes this singer. I have listened to the ones suggested by my friend…and then went searching for others by this singer…because, That’s What I DO…I look for new songs to listen to…some I end up liking…some I end up LOVING…hahahahaha!

Anyway…I sound this one as soon as it was released as a Christmas single three years ago.

Something new…something for the younger audience perhaps!

So, this song…it is from a singer who died just three years ago, just before Christmas, on December 12, 2020, at 86 years old.

Most fans know many of his songs…but the first one that will come to mind for almost everyone that knows this singer, would be his biggest radio hit “Kiss An Angel Good Morning”.

But, like a lot of singers (particularly Country singers), this guy also recorded Christmas songs…some Traditional Classic Christmas songs, and some that were newly written for him.

And it is one of those new ones that I want to feature tonight.

December 17, 2023…3rd Song-post in tonight’s Annual “Christmas Songs Festival”

This is the third song that I mentioned in the first song’s accompanying story tonight…the one with TWO SUPERSTARS!!

These two have both had HUUUUUGE careers…in Country Music and crossing over into Pop music. And that is as SOLO artists.

Then they also teamed up in 1983, and the result was a song that ended as the #1 song of the entire year of 1983 on the U.S. Country chart…and ranked in the Top 10 for the entire year on the U.S. Hot 100 Pop chart…and it was also ranked in the Top 10 for the entire year on the Adult Easy-Listening chart…it went to #1 for multiple weeks, on ALL THREE charts!!!

Soooo…a year later, they decided to also do a Christmas album together of duets…half of the 10 tracks were new songs written by the female partner here…the other half were traditional Christmas songs written by other people.

This is one the songs written by the female part of this duet. And this is a “live” video.

It is always my quest in all my song-posts to highlight a WIDE VARIETY of music…styles, videos, “live”, “official”, “lyrics on-screen”…as many different types of videos as I can that are good quality visual and audio.

Sometimes, I go through a few videos for one song…sometimes, I have searched through a couple dozen videos of the same song, searching for what I think is the “perfect” one!!

Among the FIVE songs tonight…four will be from HUGE SUPERSTARS…one of the songs will have TWO HUGE SUPERSTARS!!!

One will be a new song from a newer artist.

So, the first one will be one of the superstars being featured tonight.

And most people don’t know that this guy is Jewish…his fans know it, but probably not many other casual fans.

BUT…so many of his fans are Christian…so he decided to do a Christmas album…or TWO, many years apart.

December 16, 2023…5th Song-post for tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

This is the final Song-post tonight.

Like the previous song, it will be a serious song, about a serious issue…homelessness.

When this song was made, there was the first real attention given to homelessness in America.

And it wasn’t the stereotype of “bums” and drug & alcohol “junkies” living on the street.

It was real whole families…forced onto the street…because the economy and government policies caused their jobs to no longer exist, because companies were permanently closing, and moving to China and other countries.

This video goes along with the story of the song…but has a little happiness at the end!!

This video was posted by one person…and somehow was taken down…and I found it again, because someone else posted it just a few weeks ago!

December 16, 2023…4th Song-post for tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

The next two songs will be SERIOUS songs for Christmas.

For this song…I decided to use the original “official” video that was made for this song.

It was the first of the major “benefit” songs. This was done by a bunch of different British artists to gather in the studio, and sing various lines in the recording. They called the group “Band-Aid”, for British artists (Band) together to help (aid) a cause…this cause was the hunger issue in Africa, specifically Ethiopia, at the time.

After the success of the 45-single of this recording, there came the concert…”LIVE-AID”…which brought more money and attention to the cause.

Soon after that, came USA For Africa’s recording of “We Are The World” for the same cause.

And then came “Farm-Aid” which was a concert with a bunch of different artists to raise money to help save the small-family American farmers.

December 16, 2023…3rd Song-post for tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

As I said for the first song-post tonight…we’re calling these first two songs the “FUNday” segment of tonight’s Christmas song features…both songs are FUNNY…and suitable entertainment for the kids and Grandkids!!

This second song is an old 1950’s Christmas song that is considered a “classic”…or at least, the original Elvis Presley version is!!

This version is not THAT old, but it is not NEW either…it has been around for a few decades already. And some people might call it a “classic” also…hahahahaha…in a different way!

It’s Saturday…through the work-week (for some people, and some others have to work the weekend)…So, Let’s make today a “FUNday”…hahaha!

I have used a different video in past years…I could not find it the past few years…BUT…it’s BACK!!

It is better at matching the lyrics to the animation cartoon.

AND…it has some drawings in the beginning and the end, that depict the temporary truce on the battlefield, between the trenches, on Christmas Eve 1914.

If anyone knows how to create an animated cartoon…and can follow the lyrics of this song with their animation…and you create a video to go with this song…let me know…I will feature it next year!!

A friend of mine has always said that this is his favorite Christmas song. He waits for it every year for me to post it. Some years, I don’t post it until almost Christmas Day…just to make him wait…hahahaha! And sometimes, he will send me a message…“I haven’t seen ‘Snoopy’s Christmas’ YET!”…or maybe…“I better see ‘Snoopy’s Christmas’ before you are done with this.” “HAHAHAHAHA!”…is sometimes my response. Or sometimes…“Be patient, it’s scheduled; it just hasn’t come up yet.”

AND…just TODAY…my friend became so tired of waiting…even though this is only the 5th night of the 14 nights of my Annual Christmas Songs Festival…he decided to post my posting of this song from a previous year…hahahahaha!

Of course, he’ll also say “It should be played EVERY DAY!!”

So, now, I’ll have to use a DIFFERENT VIDEO…hahahahaha!

December 16, 2023…1st Song-post for tonight’s Annual Christmas Songs Festival

There will be FIVE Christmas songs tonight…and I am starting with a birthday person:

Today is the birthday of one of the members of ABBA…Benny Andersson.

BUT…ABBA released a brand new album the first week of November two years ago…it was the first NEW album from ABBA in 40 YEARS…and GUESS WHAT??

For the first time EVER…surprise, surprise, surprise…ABBA recorded a CHRISTMAS SONG!!!!

So, before I get to the other 4 scheduled songs for tonight…in honor of ABBA’s Benny Andersson’s birthday today…and ABBA’s first Christmas Song…this is the “official” video for this song.
