I thought I would share this post in appreciation and admiration for what this beautiful lady brings to the dance industry. I have had the privilege to witness the love and respect Kylie Lavery has for her students and her craft. Her dance school fosters a supportive environment for dancers to thrive and reach their full potential. It is always a pleasure collaborating with Kylie on costume designs. I’m immensely impressed by her creativity and attention to connecting choreography with costuming. A truely talented director with years of lived experience. ❤️

Kylie's passion for dance began at the age of three in her hometown of Ballarat, Victoria. As she grew older, her love for teaching and choreography blossomed, leading her to start assistant teaching and choreographing for local productions at the age of 15. In pursuit of her dance training, Kylie moved to Melbourne in 2000 and enrolled at Deakin University. Later, she completed a Bachelor of Dance at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts (V.C.A), where she had the privilege of working with some of the industry's most inspiring choreographers and dancers.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​During her time at V.C.A, Kylie's passion for Contemporary dance flourished. She was captivated by the seamless integration of classical training with the creativity and expressiveness of contemporary movement. Over the years, Kylie has worked as a performer, teacher, and choreographer in both metropolitan and country Victoria, as well as the UK.

In 2005, Kylie founded Dancemakers in Melbourne, and under her direction, the Caulfield studio experienced rapid growth. In 2012, she expanded her vision by opening a second Dancemakers location in her current hometown of Buninyong. Kylie's dedication to dance extends beyond her own personal pursuits; she finds immense joy in sharing her passion with others. This is evident in the respect, success, and happiness of her students.

Kylie's love for all aspects of dance is infectious, and she cherishes every opportunity to inspire and nurture others in their dance journeys.

This sweet little tutu is making its way to its new owner just in time for Christmas. The tutu was made using a 4way stretch lycra in the colour Taffy from Shine Trimmings and Fabrics. The ivory and gold lace are well complemented by the floral embellishment in tones of peach. The 8 layers of net consist of veneer, blush and white resulting in a soft peach finish and, of course, a gold glitter tulle is added for extra sparkle. Rhinestones in a mix of peach, champagne, champagne AB, fuschia, rose, burgundy, amethyst and golden shadow make an interesting blend, giving it a rich, luxurious finish. It was hard to part with this one ❤️

Every now and then, I will receive a message that makes me smile and feel proud. Yesterday I received this message from the mother of a dancer who wears a custom made Belle and Beau Stagewear Design tutu. Congratulations Lillie for being selected in the Victorian State Youth Ballet production of The Nutcracker. Thank you Skye McPhee for letting me share your message and photos of Lillie performing her solo as the Columbine Doll. ❤️

This sweet tutu is made using matt lemon lycra, 7 layers of white stiff net, plus a layer of specialty sparkle tulle in white/silver. The flowers in colours of yellow and white are covered in a range of rhinestones from light yellow, light yellow ab, topaz, crystal ab, iridescent yellows and clear.

SOLD - brand new tutu with matching arm bands and tiara.

This tutu is something I’ve been working on in the background of a busy life for some time and it is nice to finally see it come together. It is made using mulberry stretch velvet, ivory stiff net, a layer of ivory/gold glitter tulle, a gold/ivory lace and lots of rhinestones in shades of fuschia, fuschia ab, rose, light pink, light pink ab and golden shadow. The matching tiara is my new favourite design and has beads in complimentary colours.

The tutu is a child size 10-12.
Measurements:
Chest 65-70cm
Waist 55-60cm
Hips 70-75cm
Girth 120-125cm

This sapphire blue velvet was paired with silver lace, white net, silver glitter tulle and a mix of rhinestones ranging from sapphire, light sapphire, capri blue ab, light blue ab and moonlight. The result is a dreamy tutu in a colour combination I never tire of. The photos don’t quite show the true sparkle ❤️

This young lady is very special and dear to me and I was honoured to make her contemporary piece. A perfect colour choice for an incredible dancer. The pleated, 8 layer skirt has a feathered edge and is made from white net and a soft pink glitter tulle to add extra sparkle. The delicate embellishment has tones of silver, dusty pink and dusty green. The high quality rhinestones are in complimentary colours of boysenberry, pink, light pink ab, fuchsia and dark green ab. The arm bands and tiara are complimentary in style and colour.

This sweet little tutu reminds me of a delicate fairy. The bodice is a beautiful bright lycra called basthia from Shine Trimmings and Remnants. It is teamed with a skirt in layers of veneer, blush and ivory/gold sparkle tulle. The rhinestones are a mix of pink, aquamarine, caribbean blue, champagne AB, pink AB and aquamarine AB. The flowers were a late addition upon request of the tutus new owner and remind her of a dream catcher. I hope you catch your dreams wearing this tutu Miss Romi ❤️

What a privilege it was to make this piece for a special dance so very close to the dancer’s heart. The colour was a deliberate choice and specific to a cherished gift from a father to a daughter. The design brief was for a trailing effect down and across the body, soft and floaty. Thank you Miss Shaeli for choosing Belle and Beau Stagewear Design to make this for you. This has been the most sought colour this season. It is so elegant and wonderful to work with. The bodice is made in a natural colour and the skirt is 9 layers of ivory, beige, dusty n**e and ivory glitter tulle which gives the perfect vintage look I was seeking. Adorned in lots if quality rhinestones in golden shadow, topaz, smoked topaz, AB and more. A perfect match for its beautiful owner ❤️

Something a little different. This tutu was so much fun to make. The combination of colours and materials makes for a striking finish. The tiara is a perfect match with its curves and colours. The photos don’t quite capture the overall effect but this one will certainly shine bright on stage. ❤️

I’ve been so busy making tutus I forgot how much I love making lyricals. This one is pure white with a subtle hint of blue added with a scattering of ice blue pearls and blue moonlight rhinestones. The feathers add a soft elegance for added interest. Thank you Carley Bezzina for sending these beautiful photos of Miss Sienna and allowing me to share them on my page. ❤️

What a pleasure it was making this tutu. The photos don’t quite capture the intricacy and sparkle but this tutu will certainly shine bright on stage. The colours and delicate lace give it a vintage feel. I love all tutus but this one is pretty special. Good luck Miss Macey. I hope you enjoy your tutu ❤️

Another sweet tutu for another sweet dancer. This tutu in dreamland lycra is embellished with the prettiest pink flowers and rhinestones in light pink, light pink AB and fuschia. The skirt has layers of white and pink with a lyer each of white/gold and pink/pink sparkle tulle. I do love all tutus but this one is definitely a favourite ❤️.

This pretty fairy doll is the most perfect colour for its new owner. The bodice is made from lycra and the over skirt is chiffon, both in the colour taffy. The lace trims are ivory and the rhinestones are light pink, light pink AB and champagne AB. The matching arm puffs and head bow were so much fun and tie in nicely to the fairy doll theme.

It was so wonderful to work on something unique and different from anything I had done before. This tutu was made using a combination of lycra in morelino, embossed velvet in black cherry and stretch mesh in ballet pink. The skirt is lyered with cream, dusty n**e, beige, ivory, white and a layer of ivory glitter to add a touch of sparkle. The plate is in the same embossed velvet as the bodice and a pink sparkle tulle. The pleated bust, sleeves and straps make a point of difference. A subtle scattering of rhinestones in complimentary colours add a soft sparkle. The overall affect is similar to a traditional tutu with an antique hue. I am so pleased with the finished product. ❤️
