A number of festivals including Kew the Music festival, The Goodwood Festival and Kaleidoscope were cancelled in London on 15th July due to strong winds, which posed significant safety risks.
It would have been a difficult decision for those involved but it shows how the events industry continuously works with partner organisations, putting people's safety as the ultimate priority.
So whilst the events may not have happened as planned this year, we will celebrate all the planning and hard-work out in by all the teams in the months prior.

When we have a client reach out to us and ask this supposedly simple question "I'm thinking of having a photographer only (and not a videographer) at the event, will that work?"
Our response is not defaulted.
Before giving guidance, we think about various factors including:
1. Coverage - is it best for the event to be directed with the photographer telling people how to position themselves to get the perfect picture or documented with the videographer moving around capturing the activities of the day
2. The level of detail required - as a takeaway from the event, will the company want to frame the event or relive the event experience through the event video
Rest assured you will get our views, knowing that we have considered all the pros and cons.

We all step up when our organisation need us to do so but do we also provide feedback?...
Events planning requires a specific skillset that is developed and refined through years of experience. It should not be a request that is thrown over as an add-on to someone's existing workload and should also not be an afterthought.
It is a key consideration at the very start of the process.

Events are not delivered in isolation. For an event to be successful, there needs to be good engagement between the client and the event planning team.
As a client, your role is to be clear about your event brief. Communicate what you want from the event, how you want it to look, who your stakeholders are and how you want them to be engaged.
The event planner need this information from you to make sure that your event is successful.
