Let’s start this off with an introduction!

Hi everyone, my name is Layne and I am the owner of Accent Planning and Events.

Prior to owning my own business, I worked in the nonprofit sector and was constantly challenged by dividing my attention between my ‘job duties’ (marketing and communications) and ‘other duties as assigned’ (event planning).

It really opened my eyes to two realizations:
1️⃣ Nonprofit staff typically don’t have the bandwidth or resources to plan a successful high level event without compromising their day-to-day jobs.
2️⃣ I love the challenge of piecing together the logistical puzzle of event planning!

I am here to provide support, consultation, and leadership to organizations who need help planning and executing successful events.

Did you know that hosting a gala doesn’t automatically mean ‘black-tie’ affair? Here’s a sneak peak at an upcoming gala I am working on with a casual boho theme. This event will feature a food truck, live music, auction, and even a bonfire for guests to enjoy.

Looking through some old photos and I stumbled upon this gem:

to 2017 with this fun and interactive event hosted by the Winston-Salem Symphony. The main room was divided into different sections to help highlight the silent auction, entertainment, activity booths, and a VIP seating section. This carnival themed event even showcased fire dancers, contortionists, and street performers! 🎪🎭 What an experience!
