10 Years !!! 💍 💕

Today is our 10 year anniversary. It's kind of a big deal because planning my wedding is how Best Day Ever got started. It was the first wedding I planned and soon after, it officially became a business. I've now planned hundreds of weddings, have a small team and through it all, this guy has been by my side.

He's the one behind the scenes you often see checking the weather app, running out with umbrellas, helping me carry all the heavy sh*t to and from the beach ceremonies, raking up flower petals, moving tables, assembling archways, filling in doing all the things whenever I need help.

He's my baby daddy, my favorite person, and the love of my life. We've traveled the world together, started businesses together, made a family together, and are now building a house together.

And today, we celebrate 10 years! 11-11-11 💕

Happy 10yr Anniversary to BEST Day EVER and to us! And happy bday to my guy today.

Looking for a statement piece to add to your wedding hairstyle? 👰🏻 Here are few of our favorites. Some classic, some boho, some beachy, there's something here for every bride.

1. Vine jewels. I'm a sucker for these ultra-romantic hair climbing jewels. You can add them to nearly any hairstyle and feel instantly chic. Find them on Etsy!

2. The classic crown. Every bride wants to feel like a princess and the tiara crown is one that never gets old. Love this one from our bride Miko, it's simple and elegant, just the right amount of princess.

3. The simple boho head lei (or "haku"). Sometimes a delicate lei made of babys breath is all you need. Or be bold and do a bright floral piece.

4. The cymbidium orchid side pin. For all you beach brides, adding 1 or two large cymbidium orchids (pinned in from the side) may be the perfect accent to wavy beach curls. Tip - use real flowers and choose the cymbidium style orchids (they stay fresh and beautiful ALL DAY! You can request a few from your florist and then just ask your hair and makeup artist to pin them in for you)

5. Or if you wanna keep things simple, just add a few of these fun crystal pins into the side for instant sparkle.

The Latest Covid19 Wedding UPDATE ‼️

Updated 9/22/21: The current rule for weddings has been extended for about another month, allowing 10 total attendees for indoor wedding events and 25 total attendees for outdoor wedding events (Lanikuhonua, Paradise Cove, Kualoa, etc.). This number of total attendees includes vendors.

This mandate was extended to try and keep Covid19 cases down. Cases have dropped significantly since the original mandate was put into place a month ago and if all goes as planned they should continue to drop. Then, the mandate should be lifted to allow larger guest counts at professional events 🤞🏽. Wedding vendors are working with the state to try and get this lifted for professional events asap.

A Few Tips 🤔

👉🏽 Get a Professional Planner to help you navigate wedding planning, it can be overwhelming and confusing, a professional planner can keep you "in the know" and give you lots of options to navigate changes as they happen.

👉🏽 If you are getting married in 2021, consider a smaller guest count, micro weddings are intimate and can be really sweet.

👉🏽 Know your options, vendors and venues are happy to work with you on rescheduling and changes, make sure you have a back-up plan just in case.

👉🏽 Consider adding Live Stream, Live stream allows those who can't be there in person, to still be a part of the event LIVE. You get your own personal website that you can share with guests and everyone can watch it live from their living rooms in high-res, professional quality. Totally worth considering, prices are around $500 and your planner can help you to set this up.

👉🏽 Consider adding in a Wedding Video, a professional video team can capture the ceremony and edit it so that you can do a 2nd larger event later and present the video to the guests that couldn't attend in person. PLUS nobody ever regrets getting video, it's 100% worth the investment. Also, professional videographers are giving awesome deals right now. Check in with your planner to set it up. !

Hawaii Travel Current Rules & Restrictions ✈️
Updated 8.30.21

Hawaii is still open to visitors and travelers who either have been vaccinated or have proof of a negative Covid Test. Here are some simple guidelines to help you navigate travel over the next few months. 🤗

👉🏽 Vaccinated Travelers:
Visitors may travel to Hawaii and may bypass Covid Testing or Quarantine if fully vaccinated in the US, starting the 15th day after vaccination.

The Vaccination Card must be uploaded to Safe Travels and printed out prior to departure and the traveler must have a hard copy in hand when arriving in Hawaii.

The State of Hawaii will also accept vaccine records that are digitally validated through Azova, Clear and Common Pass.

👉🏽 If Not Vaccinated, A Negative Covid Test is Required.

If you are planning to visit Hawaii and not vaccinated you will have to get a negative Covid Test 72 hours before travel. A negative Covid test must be uploaded to Safe Travels and must be done at a pre-approved testing location, see the Safe Travels website for details.

👉🏽 If you are Not Vaccinated and do not get a Negative Covid Test - You must Quarantine for 10 days.

What this all means???? 🤔

With current Hawaii Covid cases at an all-time high, the state is working to bring cases down through safe travel. Hawaii is still open to visitors but there are new rules and regulations for travel, outdoor gatherings, eating at restaurants, etc, that are *temporarily* being put in place to ensure safety.

Weddings are affected, travel plans are affected, vendors are affected, but it's all still totally do-able and we will get through this together. 💙

We are all working to try and make things as easy and stress-free as possible for our brides and grooms.

If you are getting married in the next few months, be sure to check with your wedding planner who can update you on all the latest news, regulations and back-up plans.

We know all of this can be confusing so hopefully this simplified explanation on travel helps!

COVID UPDATE 8/31/21

Brides are freaking out, and we totally get it, but I just want to take a little time here to reassure our brides that we got you 💙

We've personally already reached out to all of our couples who may be affected by the new Hawaii Covid mandates but wanted to also do a quick post and simple guideline to help clarify everything during this confusing time.

From 8/25 (so right now!) until 9/22/21 ...

1. Indoor events (weddings) are limited to 10 total attendees.

2. Outdoor events (weddings) are limited to 25 total attendees.

3. This total count includes vendors (so if you have a wedding planner, a photographer and an officiant, these are three attendees which would count toward the total).

4. This mandate will be reassessed on 9/22/21 and may either stay in place, go up or go down (allow more attendees or less). It is impossible to tell what exactly will happen but your Wedding Planner can give you ideas and options on possible back-up plans.

Also ...
👇🏽 👇🏽 👇🏽
Starting on 9/13/21 you will need to show proof of vaccination or a neg. Covid Test done within 48hrs to eat at an indoor restaurant, or enter most entertainment facilities (bars, gyms, movie theaters, etc.). This program will be in affect for 60 days.

What does this mean 🤔

If you're planning any post or pre-wedding events at restaurants you will need to make sure your guests know of this new rule - if they are not vaccinated or aren't willing to get a Covid test, they may not be able to attend a gathering at an indoor restaurant. Outdoor parts of a restaurant are not affected.

We know this is a stressful time and it can feel overwhelming and confusing if your planning a wedding on top of it ... so we want to try to keep things as simple and easy for you as possible. Wedding vendors are completely understand how important a wedding day is and we are all working together to try and keep this day celebrated and ultra-special for you.

How to Get your Hawaii Marriage License in 5 Easy Steps

⒈ Fill out the Marriage License application online
Go to --> www.emrs.ehawaii.gov

⒉ Pay the $65 Fee 💸

⒊ Go to the Dept. of Health Marriage License Office (1250 Punchbowl St., Honolulu, HI - Room 101) to get your official paperwork. 📝
** You can do this no sooner than 30 days prior to your wedding date.
** try to go first thing in the morning 7:45am or after lunch to avoid lines (1-2pm).

⒋ Give your paperwork to your officiant. He or she will file the paperwork officially with the state of Hawaii after your wedding ceremony. He or she can do this online.

⒌ Get your official marriage license in the mail several weeks later. 🙌🏽

Bouquets and centerpieces, are usually taken home, but what about the arch florals, aisle florals, head table florals?

There's a little wedding flower charity we started called "Share the Aloha" that takes left-over wedding flowers and shares them with nursing homes, and children's hospitals - those who could use a little cheer!

We pick up, revive, and hand-deliver dozens of florals to select nursing homes and hospitals each year.

You see, I took care of both my grandparents until they passed and know first hand how important visitors are to seniors - they live for it! Surprise visits with flowers is the sweetest way to make a little difference.
