⭐️Fundraising Update⭐️

Thank you so much to the following people / businesses that have made donations recently:

- The Glenelg Inn very kindly to donated £416 from their raffle and table sales at the LOVELY Christmas Fayre that they held!

- Eddie Stiven donated £80 from the ceilidh at the fabulous Dark Skies event!

- Jeannette Maguire raised £55.50 from the quiz in the Glenelg Inn!

- Niall McAdie raised £50 from the quiz in the Glenelg Inn!

- The disco raised £219.20 - a big thank you for all who came out to this event and thank you to Glenelg and Arnisdale Youth Club for paying for the kids entry fees!

- We have made some money as well so far in T-Shirt sales, still to be fully added up

In total we have just over £6k, there is still far to go and we are still to work out exactly how much we need but every little bit helps for this big fundraising effort. A lot of things that we (to begin with) thought we could pay for post-event through money made by ticket sales, we now realise need to be paid for at time of us booking such as portaloos, any structures, heras etc. So a really massive thank you to everyone who contributes time and/or money to this, it's really appreciated!

Just as a wee reminder to anyone who doesn't know our plan, we are aiming to run a wee music festival in Glenelg, next September if we financially can, 300-500 people, one night and 3 bands. This festival used to run for years in Glenelg and there are still sooo many fond memories of the event, it was a mainstay in the calendar for many folk and there was an incredible buzz around the village during it!

If anyone is aware of funding that we could apply for or anyone/any business who would like to speak to us about any form of sponsorship, large or small, please contact us on:

It's officially the festive season and we couldn't be more excited for our two festive events! ☃️🌲🤶🏼❄️

Tomorrow (Saturday) we will be at The Glenelg Inn's Christmas Fayre selling our shiny new t-shirts from 1:30pm till 4pm - come along and have a look at all of Glenelg's finest wares!

On the 22nd of December, we are going to have a big Christmas gathering in Glenelg and Arnisdale Community Hall! The Big Field Blues Band are going to come and play some great music for us and we plan to have a boogie, a wee festive beverage and a catch up with everyone before the Christmas hibernation! More details to come on this event - you can get advance tickets to this at the lovely Glenelg Shop 😍

Friday 24th Nov: Dark Skies Storytelling Walk with Music and Drama in Gleann Beag, Glenelg.

This year’s Storytelling Walk, led by local Playwright and Storyteller, Eddie Stiven, will begin at Balvraid Farm with a puppet play produced by local children and end at Corrary Farm with a Ceilidh at Dun Brewing Brewery.

3.30pm ‘The Piper and the Witch’ by Glenelg Youth Group (Hot chocolate available)
4.30pm ‘Cuchulainn confronts the Warrior Queen, Aoife, at Dun Grugaig Broch’.
5.00pm ‘Lasan Phadruig Caogach’, ‘A Flame of Wrath for Squinting Patrick’, the tale and the pibroch with piper, Martin Robertson.
5.30pm The walk begins. ‘The Balvraid Whisky Still and the Excise Men’
5.45pm The Tale of how the giant Rhea stole Akin’s fire, with Greig Coutts.
6.00pm A Fairy Story with Fairy Dancers.
6.30pm The Tale of Perseus and the constellations of the Night Sky
6.45pm The Tale of ‘Daerdre nam Bron’, ‘Daerdre of the Sorrows’ and the origin of the Milky Way, ‘Slighe Chlann Uisnich’ , with Gaelic Poetry and Song.
7.00pm ‘Warrior Queens and Seers, Drovers and Rievers, Jacobites and Redcoats’ at Dun Troddan Broch.
7.25pm The Brewing of Heather Ale, a Pictish tale at Corrary Farm.
7.30pm The Ceilidh begins at Dun Brewing led by local musicians. (Hot food and locally brewed beers available)

Jennifer Aniston glides down Glenelg avenue sporting her new Drams in the Field tshirt.

"I can't wait for the disco in Glenelg & Arnisdale Community Hall on Friday the 17th of November!" she exclaimed excitedly. "Myself and the gang have already got a lift sorted to take us over the hill, which is great as I am planning having a wee glass of pinot and letting loose on the dancefloor. It's so great that community events like this happen, I heard the kids get in for free and to top it all off, it is to raise funds for the revival of my favourite teuchter music festival - Drams in the Field."

WE'VE CHANGED THE DATE OF THE DISCO!

We decided we really really wanted to go along to The Glenelg Inn on Saturday the 18th (which was when we were going to be dancing the night away) for their lovely Dun Brewing 5 course tasting menu, so we are going to disco instead on:

FRIDAY THE 17TH OF NOVEMBER!!

Can't wait to see you all, what a weekend to be in Glenelg - Partying on a Friday night and dining on lovely food on the Saturday night 😍💃🥘🍻

Merchandise!

We are chatting about doing some merch in our efforts to raise funds - our initial thoughts were tshirts and dram glasses, what do you all think? Would you buy one of these?

I think to begin with, we would probably take orders for tshirts to prevent ordering the wrong sizes, so we will come back later to take orders if the tshirts are a popular idea. Please comment if you would be interested in either of these ideas so we can gauge if it's a good idea or not! 👕🥃

Also, if you have a great idea for merch, we would love to hear it!

We like to think these fundraising concerts reflect what can be expected when Drams in the Field make its almighty return. If last night is anything to go by, we’re in for one heck of a festival!

We are blown away by the turn out and would like to thank everyone for coming down and enjoying the night and just being all round such great craic. Live music at its finest.

Online tickets for have all been snapped up, but fear not, there will be tickets on the door for those who don’t want to miss out. And why would you miss out on a night of live music, tasty food and delicious local beer.

We have a shiny new logo and are absolutely buzzing to get it on our social media, and maaaybe even some lovely merchandise! 😍🎉🤸 Thank you SO much to the lovely Kat at Varshtat Printmaking for designing the perfect logo for us, it's so fantastic and so appreciated!

We also know that a few folk were expecting there to be a festival this year. We looked into running it and the long and short of it was we didn't have enough funds to put the festival on - it's really expensive to put on a festival 👀 So we decided that we will continue fundraising, also look into finding some funding and come back hopefully in a good position next year to try again.

One massive way you can help us get Drams back on the go is, if you are able to, come along to our lovely fundraising events. We have a fantastic band called Wayward Jane coming to play for us not this Thursday but next, they play really tasty American folk music and would love a big Glenelg welcome!

So excited to have Wayward Jane come and play in Glenelg Hall this August 17th! I've been trying to get them up here for years.
Join us for a wholesome night of beautiful music inspired by American folk and Old Time. You can expect banjo, fiddle, double bass, whistles and totally gorgeous harmonies that will warm your hearts and hopefully get your toes tapping....maybe even dancing.
Wayward Jane already have two albums to check out if you want to have a listen, and on the night we will hear some fresh tracks off their new album which is full of original as yet unreleased music.
The night will kick off at 7pm when the doors of the hall will open and our very own Scott Jones will be making food in the interval so you don't even need to have your dinner before you come out.

We all had an absolutely fantastic time at the disco a few weeks ago! Thank you to everyone who came along for making it such a good time 🕺🪩 We had a fantastic turn out for both discos, thank you to the folk who came over the hill as well, it was lovely to see you all! Also many thanks to everyone who helped run the event 👏

We managed to raise a grand total of £508.28 towards the Drams in the Field Music Festival! Woohoo!
