from cocktail hour > dinner > dancing under the stars π. we often get asked about this venue and what the options are for your wedding day. here they are:β
β
β¨οΈ less than 60 guests, you can have both the ceremony + dinner on the rooftop. in this scenario, your cocktail hour + dancing will happen insideβ
β¨οΈ more than 60 guests, you can have your ceremony + cocktail hour outside, and your dinner and dancing will take place inside.β
β¨οΈ you can choose to have your reception only at this venue, and you would have your dinner outside, and your dancing inside.β
β
π§οΈ rain plan: everything takes place inside, but there is a small built in tent that allows for some parts of your day to happen outside.β
β
let us know below if there are other venues you are curious about!β

with the 2024 olympics in session, paris is on my mind, so I am sharing more of my paris wedding with a few tips if you want to have a destination wedding (part 1)!β β
β
π start by creating a list of your βvipβ guests, then think logistically about where they would all travel from. narrow down your list to 5 different places based on the convenience of travel and significance to you and your partner.β
β
π once you choose a location, book a planner !!! in our opinion, this is a non-negotiable.
β
π when choosing your venue options, you will want to consider the neighborhoods. will your location be walkable, offer many hotel options for your guests, and have plenty of sight-seeing? or will it be more rural, where you will want to provide hotel and transportation for your guests. decide which of these options you value more, and this will allow you to narrow down your venues even further. β
β
π if possible, book a visit to your destination to tour/decide on a venue with your planner. while you are there, book an engagement session with a local photographer and try out a hair & makeup artist. this will allow you to trial with two different vendors while you are there early on in your planning process.β
β
after planning one myself, I have many more tips to share. check out our tiktok for different videos on this subject, and come back for more as we continue to share here! β

Head to our blog today to relive this classic, NYC, winter wedding with us... πβ
β
βP&R were married in February at the Beekman Hotel and leaned into the late winter vibe in a beautiful way. From the lush florals to the green & white stationary to the intimate dinner party feel, their wedding was one of our favorites. We worked with these two from the very start and guided them from venue selection to day-of ex*****on. We loved working with this sweet and down-to-earth couple to make their dream day come to life!ββ

these photos of their florals are a wonderful example of having different varieties & abundances of florals throughout your wedding day. β

it is important to think about your wedding flowers in terms of lushness, sizes you prefer, and the overall visual impact that is important to you.β

if we can get on our soapbox for a minuteβ¦ we want to discuss the term βmicro weddingsβ versus βintimate weddingsββ
β
a micro wedding is not the same as an intimate wedding. we feel the terms get confused, and there is a true difference!β
β
β micro weddings started during the pandemic out of legit necessity to legally have a wedding while following health guidelines. typically, this meant there were probably about less than 20 guests celebrating your marriage, with no dancing, shared food, or typical traditions of a wedding. an example could be a small wedding ceremony followed by drinks at a bar, without much of a set plan.β
β
an intimate wedding is a small wedding, up to 50 guests, and typically, it is more traditional in format with a ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, toasts, and dancing.β
β
these photos are from n&jβs love-filled, intimate wedding β ! β¨οΈβ

Did you know there is a difference between assigned seats versus assigned tables? β
β
when choosing which you want for your wedding, there are pros & cons of each. you will want to consider your guests in this decision- will they mind if they arenβt directly next to their partner or friend? will certain groups not enjoy being at the same table together? how much effort are you willing to put into the seating chart? see below for our thoughts:β
β
assigned tables:β
β¨ you show your guests what table they will be at, but do not assign them a seat. your guest will find their table on the display and choose their seat.β
β¨ typically best for round tables.β
β¨ a con to this is that your guests may not be able to sit by their significant other and need to ask people to rearrange to accommodateβ
β¨ a pro, however, is that this creates a lot less work for you and your partner as you do not have to spend the dreaded time on a seated chart. itβs all about how much you want to take on.β
β
β
assigned seats:β
β¨ you will offer a seating chart when guests walk in, and they will look for their name card placed at a seat on the associated table number.β
β¨ this is highly recommended for long tablesβ
β¨ we recommend this if you need to separate certain groups or family members, and if you want your guests to feel at ease knowing they have a spot next to their person.β
β¨ however, this takes much more time and effort beforehand.β
β¨ this will also result in more printed stationary for the name cards on the tables. β
β
β
our number one tip for both: organize the names in ALPHA order no matter what, not by table numbers. how are your guest supposed to find their name under random table numbers?!β
β
β
considering these thoughts, let us know below if you lean one way or another, and swipe to see a few ways we have designed both options.β
π β
β
β
as wedding planners, guest experience is everything to us. β
β
although a wedding day is always about our couples & their official union, itβs also about giving their people who may have traveled a long way, or just around the corner, an incredible day or night to remember. β we pride ourselves in taking care of the guests as much as we take care of our couples.β

the couple: βwe want to plan a non-traditional weddingββ
us: βsay lessβ (but really, do they actually know what βnon-traditionalβ means?) β
β
hilary & samuel did. they had the most personal wedding day; they didnβt just do things by the book because they felt like they had to. they wanted their day to reflect them as a couple, and that it did.β
β
one of our favorite parts about their non-traditional wedding day was that they skipped the dancing post-ceremony and just enjoyed cocktails & dinner with all of their favorite people. even without a traditional reception, they still felt all the love & merriment that filled the room with heartfelt conversation & toasts. β
β
let this be your reminder that just because something is traditional when it comes to your wedding day doesnβt mean you have to do it! only do what feels right to you and your partner.β
