If you’ve heard me say it once, you’ve heard it 1,000 times: I absolutely love what I do! I love smiling kids and I love that they get to have a choice on what they want. It’s been said, though, that the highest reward for good work is the ability to do better work. Looking back, I’m truly proud to see how far I’ve come…but I still dream of someday extending my service to that one child that never got the chance of owning a stuffy friend So to that end, I’m keeping my nose to the grind. My way: the reason I got to get into this business
I don't know if I shared this amazing story of what this business is about and what it means to me, sometimes we get lost in this business and we lose focus on why we chose to become teddy bear warriors , the picture you see below is a camp on shelter island that a wonderful church donates there land and facility to let families stay with there sick children, allot of these children are terminally ill , the boy you see below is Jessie, he was such a sweetheart, kind, loving and his mom was by his side and she cried both years I got to see her because Jessie's cancer spread, I told her believe he will get better because I do and when he made his wish I closed my eyes and prayed, my 3rd year at the camp I didn't see little Jessie and I didn't ask because part of me didn't want to know I guess out of fear.
Fast forward to my last charity event I was called by a really sweet young lady who said would you guys mind coming out to our event it's at a Bar on a Friday evening for the national leukemia foundation to make teddy bears we are also honoring the man of the year, so I said of course count us in, we are there!!! So we are set up making animals and at the end of the event the young lady who called us was thanking everyone and said "let's now call up the man of the year" and my brother who was helping me said to me " oh wow look who it is, It Jessie"
I couldn't believe my eyes, there is little Jessie 12 years old now and he came up to us and made a frog! Well his first animal he made with us was a frog ! Jessie is in remission now and cancer free.
I wanted to share this with you guys and thank everyone of you that go out and take the time out of your day to make children happy and donate money to whatever cause your doing it for .
It really means the world to me guys !
