Siouxsie and the Banshees. London, England. 1976-1996 As iconic as you can get with this genre. "Spellbound" was released by Polydor on 22 May 1981. To say that they're "one of the most audacious and uncompromising musical adventurers of the post-punk era" is a bit of an understatement.

Jody Reynolds. Said to be a foundational artist to the deathrock genre. With his "Endless Sleep" single, he influenced a wave of su***de ballads in the late 1950's and 1960's and went on to shape artists like Nick Cave and the Gun Club.
