Recently I received a call from a couple, who wanted to book me for their wedding. “Great, when’s the big day?”
THIS WEEKEND 👀👀👀
Silently doubting that I’m available, I ask if this is a last-minute elopement. Nope, a full-blown wedding with 200 guests. 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
They went on to share that they had previously booked someone else about eight months ago, but during that time, they felt very alone in the process. They were asked to send over the script they wanted! And when they asked for guidance on the marriage license, they were told that information is available on the Internet🥴
Good grief. Officiants- we do this every week, but our couples do not. We’re supposed to make this easy for them, not add more stress.
Couples- there are some fabulous officiants out here - professionals who WANT to work and make the process seamless and enjoyable for you. The bride on the phone couldn’t shake her uneasiness as her wedding date crept up…who needs that added stress at their wedding? At that point, she was wondering if the officiant would even show up.😬
Thankfully, they had an early ceremony start time, so I could accommodate them before my two afternoon and evening ceremonies ❤️❤️❤️
