On Friday night, an individual visually and vocally identifying with N**i ideology tried to attend our Girl Crush RIOT! event. Due to their presence, one of our artists chose not to perform because they did not feel safe--and we fully support them in that decision. After social pressure from the audience the individual was eventually removed from the venue.

Huge thanks to the folks in the crowd who (literally) spoke up and made it clear that that kind of hate isn't welcome, and our spaces need to remain safe and inclusive, aligned with our values. You all showed exactly what Candlewick & Girl Crush stands for: community, safety, and love--and we appreciate you so deeply for that.

This kind of thing is no longer a hypothetical situation. This is the world that we live in and you have to understand that, whether you're a business owner, an artist, or any other human being in any social situation in our world today, you have to be ready to (quite literally) face it.

Congratulations to our very own Grace C. Elliot for winning the Producer Challenge!

Out of hundreds of talented artists & producers who entered, Grace's unique fusion of organic and electronic sounds caught the spotlight -- now she's gearing up to head into the studio with Nova Wav (who have previously worked with Beyonce, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and more).

A few weeks ago, we filmed & recorded a live performance of Surgery, for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest. It’s an unreleased song by Pepper Kit, a duet between two people trying to figure out if things are worth saving—both hopeful & hesitant.

Recorded it at The Workshop here in Anchorage, we captured the raw emotion of the moment. We handled the audio and video production, keeping it as real and intimate as the song itself.

If you haven’t seen it, now’s the time.
