Last but not least, we have our very own SHELTR DJ’s! You can expect some up-tempo, bass-driven & percussive tracks until the very end of the night. Combining their different styles, they’ll take you on a journey from Brazil to the UK, from 130 to 170 bpm and everything in between.

Meet Safé!

Maneuvering through a wide selection of genres, Safé
finds his footing in colorful, bouncy club records.
Having co-created the Brussels & Ghent based
collective Umtzi Butmzi with Kairos, the two have
played all over the country for various events and
venues, while showcasing their favorite local talents.

Having played Fuse, Funke, Onder Stroom and many
others, Safé enjoys bouncing around and sharing the
decks with his favorite selectors and friends, always
with a focus on rhythmic exploration.

DG2FX (also known as Kenza De Nolf) is a Brussels based instrumentalist, composer and DJ. As a DJ, DG2FX likes to experiment with different kinds of underground dance music, ranging from 100 to 180 BPM. Depending on the setting and mood, her sets often include a blend of afro-diasporic (sub)genres. When the occasion arises though, she won’t hesitate to pull up the fader and serve you the rawest speed-dembow, donk and even frapcore. Catch her live, and you will be met with versatility and surprise.

We are so happy to finally be able to announce our exciting collaboration with the talented people of What Happens.
What Happens is all about discovering and showcasing young talent, informing the world about the best new DJs, producers, and events through their articles. With their fascination for electronic sounds and the idea of highlighting unknown talent, we thought it would be great to join forces. At SHELTR, we love the idea of combining art and music, all while actively cultivating a caring and inclusive environment and focusing on creating a safer space within nightlife for everyone.

Our collective journey has led us to RESET, where we will be hosting an event on the 24th of August. You can expect electronic, heavy-bass-oriented genres with talented artists like DG2FX, Safé, Ossia, and Neffa-T (more info on the lineup will be announced soon). All of this will be wrapped in an exciting new scenography created by SHELTR.

Yung Moulinex is a dj who’s known for his groovy eclecticism. Going from hardhouse/ eurodance to breakbeat / uptempo house, he always finds a way to maintain and control the high energy during his sets.
Together with JVDA, who is more known for his drums and latin club sounds, they will explore the thin lines of the genres they admire both.
JVDA will be stepping out of his comfort zone for this one, and will be bringing some trancey and melancholic touches to YM’s oeuvre. Tune in at 17h

Only a handful of years in, and Mankiyan is already taking Belgium by storm. A sure favourite of the scene, this powerhouse of the new generation is marking her territory.
Mankiyan’s mixes are full of depth, spatiality and intuition, spanning across heady dub, rave, UK bass and grime. She toys with complex rhythm sequences and easily switches genres, with healthy splashes of bright twists – but always with an impeccable sense of pace and flow. Mankiyan is injecting community-driven, unpretentious and unadulterated love for rave culture back into nightlife. 

Kafim is in it for the love of the game. A medium of unpretentious music, his hopeful and thoughtful mixes of zany basslines, moody post-punk riffs and idiosyncratic lyricism exhibit level-headed maturity and assertiveness. The son of Brussels moves seamlessly from sturdy synths to shamanic undulations in his club mixes.

Introducing the dynamic DJ duo, Surya en Redman, a newfound collaboration born from a friendship and shared passion for bass music. By blending their cultural influences they create a diverse and energetic experience for all.

Endor is an upcoming vibrant DJ based in Brussels. Attracted by the sounds around and
below the equator, he tries to blend the caribbean and african sounds together in one big
melting pot. This combined with the bass driven UK genres results in an energetic eruption.

Jari “JVDA” ( ) van den Akker is an upcoming genre-fluid DJ based in Brussels. Inspired by the tropical sounds of South-America/Afrika and the heavy bassed UK scene, JVDA tries to blend these sounds into his own unique style of music.
If he had to describe his musical preferences in 3 words they would be spicy, multicultural and somehow a bit melancholic.

For his set he will give us an hour filled with speed dembow, raptor house and reggaeton edits on one side with a clubby and tribal undertones to keep the waists low and the energy high. On the other hand he will make sure the UK bassed tunes will be blended in smoothly to make sure you stay on the edge of your seat while listening.

Starting from now, you can tune in with SHELTR every first Thursday of the month on the Microwave website!

This residency provides us with an opportunity to share our love of music with a wider audience. Not only will our resident DJs, Floëly and Dr. Romantico, use this slot to play genres such as UK bass, UK funky, 2-step, dubstep, and more, but we will also explore fresh talents and musical horizons from Belgium with you. We will surprise you with special guest DJs every now and then!

We are happy to announce that our resident DJs, Floëly and Dr. Romantico, will officially have their own radio show at Villa Bota every other Thursday. Their sets will include genres such as UK bass, UK funky, 2-step, dubstep, and more. And every now and then, we will surprise you with some special guest DJs!

This residency provides us with the opportunity to share our love of music with a wider audience. We hope to explore fresh talents and musical horizons from Belgium with you.

One month ago we shared an incredible experience with so many of you and we would like to thank everyone for coming out and making the first edition of Sheltr absolutely unforgettable. This includes not only our guests but also all of the volunteers, friends, artists, dj’s and family members who made this evening possible! We truly couldn’t have done it without you. Through all of your separate contributions, all together we were able to achieve the ultimate purpose of Sheltr. To create a place where people can connect over nightlife, art and music while being safe, protected and represented!

And we can’t wait to share with you the new project we are working on. So make sure to stay tuned for exciting news !

In the meantime, we want to take you back one last time to the 9th of October 2022 to reminisce and refresh those extraordinary memories we made that night. Hereby Sheltr would like to present the official aftermovie created by the talented duo Louis Corthout en Gina Mercelis.
