If you love house music ((1989 onwards) then my page DJ CURDY might be of interest to you. I’ll be live mixing each week, playing sets on Technics 1200’s and strictly vinyl mixing only.
Bit of background on me:
My name is James Curd, 49 year old guy from East Yorkshire. I’ve had a keen interest in music and mixing and for my 12th Birthday my Dad bought me my first set of Soundlab belt drive decks! (If you’re a DJ, past or present you’ll understand the pain and difficulty of mixing on Soundlabs…
I took this as my apprenticeship which qualified me to up my game to Technics 1200’s (thanks Dad). Thirty seven years later I’m still here mixing on the very same decks.
Back in the early 90’s I Co-founded and Co-owned Way Out Records with my good friend Julian McCann. This shop was one of the leading independent record shops at the time in Hull, Way Out Records was massive and DJ’s travelled from far and wide to purchase our vinyl.
I’ve DJ’d all over the country during the 90’s at clubs including Back 2 Basics (Leeds), Oasis (Ice Room), Rewind (Hull). Jools and I even created our own night called Texture which was a great success back in the 90’s. We also Co-owned Hulls leading pirate radio station, Sweet FM 107.4 which eventually got closed down for good but was an amazing experience I’ll never forget.
So here I am today, 49 years old and still have that passion in my heart. If you love house music then you’ll love my page I’m sure.
Please feel free to like and share my page and also my live feeds. You can contact me directly on the page with any messages or any requests.
I’ll also post to the page my schedule so you can tune in if you’re interested.
Thanks for the support.
