With spring and a fresh new business plan underway, I thought what a great time to introduce myself to you all and all my new followers and customers ### I’m Tala Draper, growing and selling flowers from our small plot of land on Pirongia Road just out side Te Awamutu. With just under 2 acres, the help of my amazing hubby ( who has allowed me about a 1/4 of that space) my mom and my lil ones, I grow my flowers with a high intensity small scale setup, meaning close spacing and very lil pathways. It’s not a farm by Kiwi standards hence the name Drapers Field. I had a major shift of mindset after the birth of my first son. Experiencing our very first lockdown with a 5 day old baby meant I had lots of time at home to think about life and what I wanted for our growing family…goodbye to corporate life with long hours and crazy travelling and hello to homesteading, homeschooling and the flower business… oh and the even longer hours as a mom/wife/businesswomen and so on…. I sell bouquets and bunches year round through Fresh Choice Te Awamutu and Fresh Choice Leamington along with online sales through my website. The help and supply from other local growers enables me to get beautiful blooms into the stores 24/7. Fun facts about me… I worked as a Brickie for my hubby for 2yrs, I dropped out of uni 3 times, I’m a Tony Robbins and Housewives fan, I always sing n dance in the car and I dreamed of owning a zoo one day ### Thanks for all your support and kind words🙏🏽 keep an eye out for my new flower projects coming up this year! I never really appreciated my fathers til a lot later in life. I have been blessed with more than one and am so grateful to have them all xx one of the best lessons in business I learnt from my dad as a young teen working in the family business was ‘the customer pays your wages, they are the actual boss.’ If you work hard, do your best always, then everything will work out for the best ### Happy Fathers Day!
