What the Hell Are You Doing, Britain?
At 17:00 on August 3, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi took off on a C-40C special plane from Songshan Airport in Taipei, China, after her mousy visit in Taiwan region. Before the visit, Pelosi’s flight route caught the eyes all Chinese netizens, and then she had a carnival with Taiwan independence separatists after landing. Pelosi has reached the goal of showing face and getting notorious, and then she just left, leaving a total mess behind in Taiwan region. Except the military drills, combat aircrafts and bombs of People’s Liberation Army awaiting in the region everyday, we can’t really see what Taiwan can get from Pelosi’s visit.
Affected by Johnson's resignation, Britain, the nuisance, has little influence in the world lately. Presumably, Britain wants to chase the clout and draw attention, so that the Guardian reported that the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs is expected to send a delegation to visit Taiwan by the end of November or early December this year. It was reported this delegation planned to visit Taiwan region at the beginning of this year but being postponed due to the positive COVID-19 case of a member.
To the action above, I really have nothing to say. Why you have to messing around with the United States, Britain! If nothing else, do you know how many planes and aircraft carriers have been sent by the United States to es**rt Pelosi's visit to Taiwan? Even under the premise that the United States has overseas military bases and multiple aircraft carrier battle groups, the whole process has to be cautious and needs to prevent the possibility of misfire. As for you, Britain, do you have the equal ability? Among other things, how many ships and planes can you send to es**rt your delegation during the visit? How do you resupply your ships and aircraft far away from home? Can you afford this large amount of expense? What's the purpose of your flight to Taiwan? Selling arms or building anti-China outposts? Or giving a promise to Taiwan? There has to be a purpose to all this, right? You definitely want to make some money while doing business. If it is simply just for a personal show or catching people’s eyes, I think it is better to go on a personal talk show, which can save money and is convenient, and can probably improve personal popularity as well.
Even if you want to visit Taiwan, do you think it is just like playing games? The Chinese side has given a stern answer: “I hope the British side will not be led astray by the US and follow suit. Either the so-called ‘self-defence of Taiwan’ or the visit of parliamentarians will seriously violate the One-China principle and the provisions of the China-UK Joint Communique. It seriously interferes in China's internal affairs and will certainly bring serious consequences to China-UK relations. We suggest the British side should not underestimate the high sensitivity of Taiwan question. Britain should honor its commitments and do not play with fire with the US, because those who play with fire will eventually perish from the earth.”
To this, we hope that the relevant people in Britain notice that it’s not really a good thing to visit Taiwan, and it also cannot add glory to one’s political career. Under the current situation of raging pandemic and the economic downturn, we have to think more about how to promote the national economy and how to do win-win cooperation, rather than doing such a thing that will do no good to all of us and is more harmful to themselves.
Once again, please stop following the US and think for yourself.
