I have been cooking/baking/prepping/plating/photographing/packaging for D A Y S now and seriously this is my dream job. I always knew it was, but I wasn’t sure how to make it happen. I’m really, truly grateful to the people who support me and allow me to nourish their families. I know to some, food is just a necessary part of living, but to me, food is so much more. The whole time I’m cooking, I think about how delicious these meals will be for your families. I think of certain little girls who love my banana and pumpkin breads. I remember a woman whose husband doesn’t eat lasagna, ever—except mine, so she ordered four, one for every Friday night this month. There are my firefighter friends who love my lasagna, my friend undergoing chemo who ordered a gallon and a half (!!) of my sundried tomato basil soup because, oddly, it’s what she craves and can keep down. So many more people...I can’t even name everyone! I seriously think of all y’all every time I make food for you and it just makes me feel so humbled. I can’t even explain it—you allow me to provide necessary sustenance for your families, and that’s a privilege I will never, ever forget. Counting my Tuesday deliveries, I’ll have sent a total of 37 orders, a total of 197 items, out my door this month and there is no better feeling. Thank you.

Have you ever had cassata? This is a Sicilian ricotta sponge cake. Here, I’m adding sugar to six eggs who have been been beaten—now they’re talking 😉 I’ll post finished photos of the cake later. Mini versions will be available soon!
