The Beauty of Joshua Tree ✨ Two years ago, we found ourselves wandering through the mesmerizing landscapes of Joshua Tree, and it was a transformative experience we’ll never forget. We spent our days just soaking it all in—painting under the expansive desert sky, taking countless photos of blooming prickly pear cactus, and marveling at the yucca trees with their striking flowers.
The gentle sway of dried grasses in the breeze, the towering Joshua trees standing sentinel over the vast terrain, and the soft, curved rocks all around us made every moment feel like magic. There’s something surreal about driving into the park, with the sun casting its golden light that kisses the rocks, illuminating the rugged beauty of this place.
It’s not just a landscape; it’s a sanctuary that invites deep breaths and quiet reflection. Each detail whispers a story, urging you to slow down and connect with the world around you. We felt so inspired by the stillness and the beauty that we knew we had to share this special place with others.

We are fairly civilized, tame humans (we promise), but something switches when we’re at a creative retreat. Our passionate love pours out when we’re together with you and surrounded by THIS MUCH BEAUTY. It cannot be contained, and our joy for art and creating with the earth is contagious.

We live across the globe from one another, but our connection is so strong, warm, and palpable. Each year, our travels bring us together, and we get to create these magical containers we call Creating With Nature Retreats for you to experience that too!

How is it fireweed season already? 🤧🌸What is your favorite way to enjoy fireweed? In recent years, my mom and I have foraged for fireweed leaves and fermented them for tea. I think this year, I’ll try making some fireweed bloom syrup and ink, of course.

Walking on the beach with my sweet baby Estée in my arms, I feel a deep sense of purpose and joy for the work I do, showing her the beauty and wonders of nature. This connection inspires me to create with natural materials, knowing it’s eco-friendly and sustainable. The thought of her soon experimenting with nature-based paints fills me with so much excitement, I seriously can’t bear it. Watching her discover and create with nature will be the sweetest experience. 🥹🧡

FORVER BLOOMS PRINT COLLECTION IS LIVE🌸
Ahhhh! It’s here it’s here! I’m so excited to share these three prints with you. About two years ago I did this photoshoot using local blooms and a simple idea to create - just for me. This collection is from the heart and evolved into a really special collection that combined all of my favorite things - floral design/styling, photography, painting, and graphic design.
I envision the viewer getting lost in the intricate details, following along each petal, brush stroke, and line. I hope these prints remind you of a person or feeling that you want to hold close - forever.

These three prints look lovely either together or split up among those with whom you share a strong bond, serving as reminders of their love and connection.

Today, we celebrate National Pigment Day! I’ll never forget the thrill of foraging for pigment—it’s still as exciting today as it was then. This practice has taught me presence, deep appreciation for our colorful world, and respect for the land. Working with pigment and inks is the heart and soul of my art, a sacred journey I’ll cherish forever. Let’s preserve its magic together!

Did you know that the stunning reds, pinks, and purples we’ll be using for our desert retreat come from a tiny insect that calls cacti home? Meet Cochineal, a remarkable source of color that has been used for centuries by indigenous cultures in the Americas.

Cochineal is derived from the female cochineal insect, Dactylopius coccus. These little bugs feed on cacti, primarily the prickly pear cactus, and store a brilliant red pigment in their bodies. When harvested and processed, it results in a striking and natural red dye.

What makes cochineal so special is its rich history and its role in creating long-lasting, vibrant colors. It’s not just any red; it’s a symbol of connection to the land and traditions.

We’ll be using cochineal extract for our desert painting and bundle dying, right here in the heart of the desert itself! This adds a whole new layer of magic to our creative journey. Can’t wait to see the magic unfold on our canvases as we connect with nature and tradition. ✨

The Sonoran Desert’s appeal is truly remarkable, with its vast expanse adorned by the towering giants – the Saguaro cacti. These majestic sentinels of the desert, some centuries old, stand like guardians of time, casting striking silhouettes against the vivid desert sunsets.

This arid wonderland boasts a unique biodiversity that thrives against all odds. From the elusive Gila monster to the vibrant blooms of the Ocotillo, the desert is a treasure trove of life found nowhere else.

What’s most awe-inspiring is the resilience of the plant life in this challenging environment. The tenacity of these organisms to survive and even thrive in extreme conditions is a testament to the power of adaptation. It’s a living testament to the beauty of perseverance against the harshest of odds.
and I are so excited to welcome our retreat guests in a few days on this incredible landscape, where we’ll capture the spirit of this extraordinary desert through our creative lenses. Prepare to be inspired by the grandeur of the Saguaros, the diverse life that calls this place home, and the enduring strength of desert flora.

#chasingthatfeelingak was everything we all needed. The sounds of the creek, soft shuffling of leaves and grasses, and the sweet Alaskan summer breeze all surrounded by a group of creatives - creating just to create. Next meet up is in the works, that’s for sure! ✨

Weak for @theweeknd always. 🧡 So much of my work is based off of intuition, my current mind state and of course feeling - embracing that openness takes a lot of care and patience. I love every second of it. This was painted while camping at one of our favorite spots in Hope, Alaska. #thatfeelingpainting

Day 100/100 "Thank You!" We made it guys! I am so overwhelmed with feelings I can't even think straight! I started this challenge to mainly perfect my lettering but it turned into so much more.. Being that I requested others to tell me what they wanted handlettered was both a challenge and a relief, only in a sense that I didn't always have the control of expression as far as the subject. I got to see what people connected to the most, which quotes really hit home for people, words that made you say "I needed this today." And that's a powerful thing. HUGE THANKS to everyone who took the time to write a lettering suggestion, you guys are the BEST! If you have ever considered doing any challenge and didn't know if you should dive in, DO IT! It's so worth it! The results will definitely be nothing you ever expected, but in the best way possible! To show my appreciation I want to do a giveaway - details to which will be posted later today! In the meantime, let me thank you again! 💕💕💕🦄🦄🦄
