CARTEL the story so far..

This Summer we launched ‘CARTEL’ a streetwear brand with a focus on quality, culture & community.

We both love to come up with concepts, marketing ideas and have spent many hours learning how to source and develop high quality products behind the scenes. Starting Cartel was an extension of us that opened up new ways to be creative.

Our initial concept was to do limited supply drops for items then to follow up next with a full collection. Though we quickly learnt that getting things right takes time and when that first sample comes in you never quite know what you’re going to get (slide 4/5 expectation vs reality).

We didn’t want it to feel like merch. We both agreed that everything we release has to be at that quality where we truly love the item and whilst it can be frustrating, its mad rewarding when you get that final piece through and it hits the spot.

The first drop was the Cartel Euro shirt which sold out in under 48 hours and the next is the Cartel ashtray. Following for those who missed out, we’re doing a redrop of the football jersey with a one-off ‘Year Of The Dragon’ design.

We do our own sourcing and designing and are currently working on a hoodie for early in the new year. We know some of you want to get your hands on a Cartel rug but also let us know what you want to see.

We’re excited to see what we can create as a community and growing this Cartel together.

Our Story...

The Funk Cartel are a duo consisting of brothers Blame Rory and Kimono Cam known for their rave ready flavours, bringing life and soul to the underground sound.

Being raised with a powerful connection to House music it was only natural for them to collect, share & create music from a young age and this has given them a deep understanding and love for the genre. The brothers believe that House has an ability to bring people together like no other music and their purpose is to share this message.

Developing themselves as artists and DJ’s they are known for high energy performances on the decks, with live sets frequently stacked with their own distinctive productions and edits. This flair was developed through their residency for label and events group THUNDR where they are key playmakers, driving the brand forward whilst hosting parties across the UK.

A relentless work ethic in the studio helps forge their sound which cannot be tied down as their music pushes forward in many directions. This makes them unique, as there’s excitement in not knowing what is to come down the line. What’s certain is that their creativity in the studio knows no limit and will continue to produce a consistent stream of high quality releases. This approach has earned support from the worlds top DJ’s, all the while they continue to build an ever growing collection of unreleased music ready for the clubs and radios.
