We’ve been at MCM London today.
Not trading, maybe one day we’ll be big enough to trade at an MCM though.

We’ve met our two pop culture idols, Stephen Amell (aka Green Arrow) and Felicia Day (aka Charlie Bradbury from Supernatural.

We also met some amazing cosplayers and even refreshed the infamous Spiderman meme with Arrows!

Tomorrow is a bit of sightseeing and then the long drive back up north to Middlesbrough and carry on the prep work for Newcastle Unleashed from Monday.

TwoNerdyStudents are going to York!

We’ve just booked York Comic-con for March 2024. This is the biggest convention that Unleashed Events run, after attending as guests this year we just couldn’t pass up the chance to trade there.

Future trader appearances tbc as Unleashed events are releasing all the tables within this fortnight so we will have to assess based on affordability and time with Masters degrees as work.

Turns out that the best way to paint the inside of the mouths is with a cotton bud. These guys (not one one on the right 😂) will be available at Newcastle comic con on 12th November and are already available at www.twonerdystudents.co.uk

This is why we prototype. You can see one of the eyes is damaged, it took a few attempts to find the right scaling for the white inserts and unfortunately one proved difficult to remove despite being too small, resulting in damage to the eye socket. The blast cap has also been coloured with a silver pen rather than sprayed so we could see how the final product would look without having to set up the spray booth for one piece. All the other parts have been printed in their final colours which will save time in production. These beautiful bob-ombs will be available next month at Newcastle comic con on November 12th. We will also be adding them to twonerdystudents.co.uk once we have a cleaner one to photograph 😅😅 We can’t wait to share these little guys with you all

We are in love with coloured filament right now. One of the main obstacles preventing us from preparing the 3D models for cons was the painting. We’ve now starting building a collection of coloured filaments and can now print each piece in its intended colour. Saving time and allowing us to bring even more amazing products to cons to share with you as we balance TwoNerdyStudents with our Masters degrees.

We were very nervous for our first comic con and had a little bit of imposter syndrome but we made a good amount of sales for our first event.

Here’s an update on my suit, which you’ll be able to see at Newcastle Comic-Con on me or behind our stand, whether it’s finished or not.

Tony’s suit wasn’t a one piece so neither is mine!

This week it’s all about buckles and straps…. And hot glue!

Last time, I did a ton of welding! So now I’ve got loads of completed pieces that fit together pretty well. Just one problem, when I try and pick it up, it all falls to pieces.

The Solution? Buckles and straps! Obviously the pieces need to be held together somehow but, glue and welding are too permanent, sealing the pieces together, ruining my mobility, and making the suit a logistical nightmare to store and transport.

I began by creating some small sets of buckles and straps. Then, I lined the pieces up one at a time, as close as I could get to how I want them to hang on the suit. Lastly, I hot glue my buckles and straps across the joints of my suit to hold it together.

Now, the suit holds together when I need it to, and with the unclipping of a couple of buckles, it all breaks down back into individual parts.

Next up, I’ve got to get the back pieces attached to each other with the buckles, and then I need to work out how the back attaches to the front, with me in between. I’m thinking… Magnets!

Our good friends at We'll Meet Again Museum are holding a raffle for the Kings Coronation.

All funds go to the museum and tickets are £5 per book.
It doesn't matter if you're not local, you can call up and purchase tickets.

First prize is a flight in a 1 hour flight in a Luscombe Plane and second prize is a half hour flight on the museum's one of a kind Lancaster Bomber VR Simulator

The museum is a charity so every little helps.

Happy Birthday to Darren, a key member of the team at We'll Meet Again.
Darren has taken on a lot of responsibilities at the museum since the summer including learning to run the VR flight simulator. We're so proud of our friend and hope he has an amazing birthday 🎂
