Camaraderie and Competition: Creating a Collaborative Future Together @109

Intramurals 2024 was a week-long celebration of team work, winning, talent, and competition. Our very own CTE representatives from various sports and events made the whole department proud as they emerged victorious.

During the Awarding Ceremony held at the CEC Auditorium, last October 12, 2024, the efforts of all teams were recognized. During his closing remarks, SAS Head, Mr. Gerold De La Peña emphasized the 4Ds that are crucial in winning: Dedication, Discipline, Direction, and Devotion.

As we move forward from the Intramurals, the whole CTE department would like to express how proud we are of the CTE representatives. Truly embodying the flexibility of a teacher.

"𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙎𝙄𝙀𝙏𝙀 𝙏𝘼, 𝙫𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙖!"

𝗖𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 accompanied by the 𝗖𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘀 joined the 1𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁 2024

It was an exciting day for the CTE Council as they visited different booths from the Volunteerism Exhibit. Such as booths from the Department of Tourism, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc., booths from the Philippine Red Cross to Pampanga State University and University of the Philippines—Cebu, and a whole lot more on the lists. A wide array of booths were installed that shared the same goal: to spread the art and love of volunteerism.

The CTE Council took the chance to ask around, learn, and participate in the games and activities. One to note is our very own CTE Council Treasurer, Mr. John Jehaill Vallejera, who donated blood to the Philippine Red Cross.

It was a day full of takeaways and eye openers that the CTE Council surely brought home to improve not just as an individual but as a part of the community, especially that they too, themselves, have the heart for serving others voluntarily. May this event open doors for opportunities and knowledge that they can share with the whole department and perhaps the whole school.

Congratulations to our Future Magtutudlo that were able to join our "𝐒𝐚 𝐂𝐓𝐄 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐠 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐤𝐚, 𝐁𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐚𝐲𝐚! held last September 25 and 26, 2024. We were able to give out mix 'n match to the lucky students who got perfect scores. Through this, we recognizd the efforts of the students and the hard work that they exert to achieve that perfect score.

SPOKEN WORD POETRY MECHANICS:
1. Spoken poetry is a performance art that is word based. It is a writing that is meant to be spoken or delivered with emotions to an audience. It is an oral art that focuses on the art of word play, rhythm, improvisation, intonation and voice inflection.
2. The contest is open to all Education Students.
3. The spoken word poetry piece must be an original composition in English language.
4. The piece must be related to the theme and must not contain any malicious and offensive content.
5. Each contestant is given 3-5 minutes to recite or deliver his/her piece.
6. Sounds, instrumental or music background is allowed to complement the delivery. No deduction shall be made if the contestant opts not to have a musical background.

QUIZ BEE MECHANICS OF THE COMPETITION:
1. There will be three levels for this contest namely the EASY, AVERAGE, and DIFFICULT rounds. The easy and average round has 10 questions while the difficult round has 5 questions to be answered correctly. In case of a tie after the difficult round, the contestants will proceed to the clincher round to determine the winner for the place that they will be competing for.
2. The contestants have 30 seconds to answer each questions in the easy round, 50 seconds in the average round, and 1 minute and 10 seconds in the difficult round.
3. The Quiz Bee will be held on September 20, 2024 at Kindergarten Hall, 2 PM.
4. Each participant must have a white board/illustration board or bond paper and markers/chalks.
5. Contestants must write their answer after the "go" signal. A contestant who has started writing without the "go" signal will be disqualified.to answer for that specific turn until the next question is given.
6. When time is up, the participants will be asked to raise their boards to show their answers. Participants can only show up and bring down their boards upon instruction of the Quiz Master.
7. All are qualified for easy, average and difficult rounds. Only those who need to break a tie will proceed to the clincher round. Each question in the Clincher Round is good for one minute only. Once a participant answers correctly, the other participant will automatically be eliminated. Clincher Round will however continue if none of the participants correctly answered the question.
8. The quiz master will read the question twice before the "go" signal will be given.
9. Questions and protests from participants regarding the answer to the items will be entertained. If a protest shall arise, the participants may raise their complaints to the Quiz Master, and will be forwarded to the Board of Judges. Questions and protests must be forwarded before the next question is read; otherwise, they will be considered invalid. The decision of the Board of Judges is always final.
10. For every correct answer, the contestant in the easy round will be given 1 point. In the average round 3 points ad in the difficult round, 5 points will be given.
11. A contestant who has the highest point at the end of the difficult round will be determined CHAMPION.
12. The organizers reserve the right to change all rules and guidelines for this event without prior notice.

Amidst the buzzing energy of a four-cornered classroom stands not just a figure of knowledge but also a figure of hope and aspirations. Maybe we once dreamed of becoming that figure too. At one point in our lives, when asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, most of us instinctively answered "teacher". It must be because it was the most natural choice, or perhaps because it was the first "most amazing to do" to teach.

Now, as we weave through life, the figure that we dreamed of may not or may have changed. But never was the absence of the figure of a teacher because of all the mundane things that this life could offer, their presence was one of the most simple yet profound figures. They are the architects of our futures, molding not just our minds but also our hearts, fostering curiosity and perseverance.

As we look back on the dreams we once held, let us also reflect on the figure we once looked up. Let us celebrate the presence of a figure that never ceases. The figure of a teacher. To these amazing teachers whose hearts hold immeasurable love for knowledge, commend your tireless efforts and sacrifices. To the teachers that inspire the youth to aspire, we celebrate your existence!

Last August 30,2024 the newly elected officers of the College of Teacher Education took their Oath of Office at the Cebu Eastern College Inc. Gymnasium. The oath taking was led by Ms. Judy Y. Navarate, Director of the Cebu City Scholarship Program, along with the School Administration, Deans Departmental Faculty, and SAS Coordinators.

This occasion marked the beginning of a journey of commitment onwards,governance with sincerity and integrity.

A day filled with fun and memories.
The CEC-CTE Officers would like to express their gratitude for this opportunity to Cebu Eastern College Inc. and, of course, to our tireless and dynamic Supreme Student Government Officers headed by Hon. Richelle Mae P. Tiwanac. It was an event filled with fun and excitement, with a bit of tears at one point and a whole lot of realizations; nonetheless, it was something worth sharing and remembering. Indeed, this event built a bridge of connection and trust with other student leaders. It definitely was an honor to be able to work with this group of diverse and amazing individuals.
