Because my page doesn’t allow reviews anymore (again due to a hack) I’m going to post comments from my brides ! “Kayla was amazing to work with from the start. She is so kind, caring, and knowledgeable about flowers! I put all trust in her to make sure our day was beautiful and she DID NOT DISAPPOINT! My bouquet was perfect and exactly what I envisioned, and my girls' bouquets were beautiful as well. My husband even commented on how well-put-together the boutonnieres were as he had just stood up in a wedding where his was falling the whole night, but Kayla's held up even for the rowdy groomsmen! And our centerpieces..WOW! They were better than I could have pictured! Everything was more than picture perfect and looked like it was out of a magazine. I can not recommend Kayla and 189 Blooms enough!”

I took a fun photo on my little getaway and thought I’d do another “about me” to my few new hundred followers!

HELLO! 👋🏼

My name is Kayla and I started my own floral business out of my home here in good old Taylor MI! I graduated from Truman high, married my middle school crush and now have 3 strong willed boys! I worked at Ford motor company for 13 years and quit to follow a burning passion. FLOWERS! I’ve always dabbled in florals my whole life but decided to take a leap of faith in this world! I highly respect the “skill trade” mentality as that’s what I did for 13 years in ford as a clay modeler! So florals has that same art mindset as in it’s an old school art and work! As stated, I do work out of my basement because it allows me to be present with my children still! My husband is my second hand man in this business(and also he’s a very present father with the boys as I design throughout the event weekends!) When you go through someone like me, you’ll get a personal touch! I’m very very intentional about my work and customer satisfaction! I try to be available whenever you need, to become your best friend during your event, and just give you a unique twist with a reasonable price for downriver! I made a promise to myself that I will always still give to my community as best as I can with flowers. I love downriver, I love this community and I truly want to be here for you with your floral needs! I thank ALL of you who do take a faith in me and because of your trust, my business has literally bloomed tremendously in the last few years. It has allowed my home to live off of this business we created! I will never ever thank you all enough for your continued support and your spreading the word of my name! 189Blooms is ready to create for you!!✨

Not a flower post, personal, but apologies for delayed responses. Yesterday we had to put our last lover down. 🩷Tana Bear🩷

We put down our golden Seymour last year due to an unknown sickness, our pit mix Ash a few months ago due to an insane tumor that grew rapidly on her underside, and now Tana.

Been feeling SO empty and unsettled not having these 3 pups partying in this home of ours.

All well in age and lived a great life, got along great and my children did get to experience them all, but it sucks. The impact our fur loves have on you. I’ve never not had a dog and it seriously feels EMPTY.

Life as a wife, mom of 3 boys, and a small business owner. 🌹FLORIST! 🌹

My basement is now my shop!
I wake up, have mornings with my boys, then head out to get my flowers for my events around 11! My husband is the bucket washer and he-man 😋

Come home, prep, clean flowers and clean boxes and boxes and try to condense (it’s insane amount of trash thankfully we have 4 trash cans and my neighbors) and then get done around 3! Then back to hanging with my family until they go to bed at 730 and work until needed! I honestly go a little insane event week because my flowers are 3/4 days FRESH out of an event. I don’t let things sit to long (which has been a compliment from plenty how fresh their flowers always are!)

My husband is my partner as well as a dj so we just tag team the kids and when my event day comes I have my glorious mother who watches our kids!

We hustle and bustle in this little 1000sq ft home but it’s been the perfect storm for our family!!

And that’s how a typical 3 wedding week works! Then repeat! 😂 so when you trust me with your florals, you’re seriously supporting a family! My heart is always so full and thankful when you decide to go with me!!

I’ve let two brides into my insane messy home.
My customers are always welcome just know we party with kids dogs and flowers up in here lol! It’s not a fancy modern space BUT it’s FILLED with 100% love. And 6 8ft tables(yes there’s more tables behind me)

All you insane florists out there feel that florist mess looking at this photo! That’s more work than designing I swear!!🫠

Venue shout out!! Had a bridal delivery today at this amazing Birchwood Meadow Barn & Event Venue

This place is gorgeous guys. Go check out their page and see better photos !

It’s in Ohio about 1 hour and 11 mins from Taylor MI.

But ceremony and reception on site! And I loved it! Had a bridal suite and all! They provide those chairs and white table cloth you provide everything else. But it’s gorgeous

Wedding #3!!!! I honestly could just pass out of beauty. Hahaha this place was called the hidden gem in Holt MI! Some ppl like to know where these places are! This place was quaint, sweet simple and all in one! It was soo beautiful ❤️😍

Also these vases you’ve seen all weekend are in a plastic container that are YOURS TO KEEP! They come in silver and gold and they’re perfect and more affordable! And like I said you keep all your flowers too! A lot of the older folks like to take them I’m learning. lol or people will use to take to grave sites the next day

Created an adorable sweet pea arrangement for a Customer to honor her granddaughters first birthday for her birthday month of April! (Daisies and sweet peas) So I ran up to my mayesh Detroit today, and made this super cute April flower of the month arrangement with a cute daisy wrap and purple ribbon. Just so cute🙃 play the video! Creating fun mock ups today with my friend for a wedding in may. Again these are mock up quick renderings of capturing what a bride wants. The end product is always MORE MORE full and holes filled, but when you’re doing a quick dirty run down I still like to capture the process for you brides to see visions come to life!! This piece will have more white flowers added in with more greens and candles surrounding 🥰🥰

Created the most gorgeous simple rustic wedding with the fall blooms! I love when the customer wants to use my milk glass vases🐮
