Happy New Year, KPOPPIES! It’s been another exciting year in Kpop, and another busy one for me. I managed to keep up my pace of posting a new mix about every two weeks, posting a total of 26 mixes this year!
I like to keep some stats to see what I’ve accomplished, so here are some numbers for the year.
In 2024 I posted 26 mixes with a combined runtime of over 28 hours!
My mixes (all 66 mixes combined) got 7,915 total plays this year, and were listened to for almost 4,435 hours—HOURS!—and were favorited by you all 333 times! Thanks for that!
My top 3 most popular mixes were:
#1 Kpop Mix 044 - KPOP 2024 vol 1, with 728 plays!
#2 Kpop Mix 057 - KPOP 2024 vol 4, with 365 plays
#3 Kpop Mix 050 - KPOP 2024 vol 2, with 342 plays
It seems you all really love the “year/volume” mixes, all the current stuff! Right on! I have a few personal favorites myself, and it seems I like playing the new stuff, too!
My personal favorite mixes were:
• Kpop Mix 061, an absolute banger from start to finish!
• Kpop Mix 055 - The STICK OUT Mix, featuring tunes from NMIXX’s second of two great albums this year, Fe304: STICK OUT!
• Kpop Mix 053 - KPOP 2024 vol 3, an energetic and groovy late summer set that keeps me coming back for more.
• Kpop Mix 060 - KPOP 2024 vol 5, the best of the 2024 volume mixes.
• Kpop Mix 056 - The CRAZY Mix, featuring tracks from LE SSERAFIM's CRAZY album and one of my most complex transitions that I've ever done.
• Kpop Mix 058 - Kpoppleween '24. This was a fun mix, and I feel like it turned out really well and even holds its own among my normal mixes.
• Kpop Mix 048 - The SWITCH Mix, featuring tracks from IVE's album IVE SWITCH.
• Kpop Mix 043 - The Easy Mix, featuring EASY by LE SSERAFIM and really the first banger mix of the year.
I also like to keep track of which artists and tracks I am playing throughout the year, and my top artists this year were:
tripleS with 29 plays, in 1st place for a second year in a row! My favorite tracks of theirs were ‘Heart Raider’, ‘Inner Dance’, and ‘Untitled’.
ITZY in 2nd place with 25 plays, favorite tracks: 'Mr. Vampire’ and ‘Dynamite’.
NMIXX and LE SSERAFIM tied for 3rd place with 23 plays each. Favorite tracks: ‘Passionfruit’, ‘DASH’, and ‘XOXO’ for NMIXX; and ‘EASY’, ‘CRAZY’, and Smart’ for LSF.
In total I played 476 different tracks from 154 artists this year, keeping it fresh and diverse, with plenty of nugu groups right alongside top-tier groups, and adding a few more male artists into the mix as well (as you know, I’m more of gg stan lol).
Some more of my top groups this year were, TWICE (20 plays), YOUNG POSSE (18 plays), NewJeans (18 plays), IVE (18 plays), STAYC (17 plays), Kep1er (17 plays), and aespa (17 plays).
So like I said, it was a busy year and I managed to keep up a strong pace. I’m not sure if I’ll have the energy to keep up that pace this coming year—I may dial it down a notch. But we’ll see what 2025 has to offer and, who knows, maybe I’ll be inspired and the sets will keep flowing. Definitely look forward to KPOP 2025 “volume” mixes, as well as the annual KPOPPLEWEEN, which I always really enjoy making, even if they aren’t my most popular. I also have a special mix planned for you old-school Kpop heads out there, so stayed tuned for that.
