Bringing cool shows to Lincoln, Nebraska

Hey! Here’s the first show we’re announcing for 2025!

We’ve got SoCal garage-rockers Archer Oh bringing that sunny West Coast spirit to Lincoln this April! Look forward to the sights and sounds of summer; they’re closer than you think! ☀️

Archer Oh have shared stages with the likes of Vundabar and Destroy Boys, and they’ve accompanied Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar on multiple tours.

Their major-label debut is on the way in February, and lead single “25 to 1” is a Strokes-indebted stomper that dials up a “Room On Fire”-era Casablancas vocal inflection, as effective in a basement punk performance as in a vast ballroom. In our case, we’ll hear it at Duffy’s, where Archer Oh will stop on their “Internal Theater Tour” on April 7!

HEY WE’RE DOING A FUNDRAISER show and pop-up shop for a place very near and dear to our hearts: Proyecto Cultural, aka El Proyecto — which has been absolutely instrumental to what we’ve accomplished as Bonehead in these past couple years.

➡️The show is on December 14 (next SATURDAY) and includes performances from .ne, , .set.ne, and DJ Earl Grey.

🛍️We’re teaming up with our good friends at to make this happen, and they’re hosting a pop-up art and thrift event before the show, from 5-7. So come grab some sick vintage clothes or stocking stuffers and stick around for the music.

➡️Show starts at 8 p.m., entry is $5, and every dollar after paying the bands will go to Proyecto.

Yo, things have been quiet — thanks, for sticking with us. We’ve got a cute, fun, extremely loud house show for you next Friday. It includes the Lincoln debut of a Wichita band with old friends, the Lincoln debut of a Lincoln band with new friends, and two loud-as-f**k veterans of the Rancho Rodeo basement.

From Wichita, we’ve got Yae, featuring members you may recognize from The Cavves and Yasmin Nur’s band circa 2019. Beautiful, thoughtful math pop

We’ve got Lincoln’s heaviest and best prog-metal trio,

We’ll have Omaha psychedelic garage rock heathens .eyes

And then there’s a brand new mystery band, going by the name of Mondo Duplantis, not to be confused with the Swedish-American world-record-holding pole vaulter of the same name

Follow your inquisitive nose down to Rancho Rodeo on November 22 and see what it’s all about…

Huge thank you to everyone who came to the show at Proyecto on Sunday. It was a super special one for us, and we had a bunch of people tell us afterward how meaningful the show was to them.

Not to get all cheesy, but that’s why we do this — we love this town and just want people to be proud to be from here.

We aren’t the first or only team with that goal in mind, and we certainly won’t be the last, but hopefully that collective effort over time keeps building into a community of creative people and weirdos who feel like Lincoln is the place for them.

Sunday capped off a wild stretch of five shows in nine days. It was exhausting but very rewarding, and you all showed up. We’re super grateful. We’ll have some more shows to announce soon, including a house show going on the calendar tomorrow — we’ll see you at the next one 🙂

THREE shows this week, and they’re all STACKED :D

WEDNESDAY – Virginia future-pop band Drook plays Duffy’s with DJ Beetlebitch, Goosehens and Sister Fortune. Drook just released their long-awaited debut LP, “The Pure Joy of Jumping,” which is kind of like if A.G. Cook produced the last Slowdive album

THURSDAY – Single Mothers FINALLY will be at Duffy’s. The Canadian punk legends are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their landmark debut album, “Negative Qualities.” No bu****it, every song is an absolute banger and they’re playing the whole thing. Don’t F around and miss this one. Also on the bill are Lincoln’s heaviest hitters: Carrier, The Ulcer Twins and Face. Forget cake to the face, catch an elbow!

SUNDAY – Another HUGE one – Philly shoegaze trailblazers They Are Gutting A Body Of Water finally arrive in Lincoln at El Proyecto. If you claim to be a music nerd, you should absolutely be at this one. Gdamn TAGABOW in Lincoln, dude! Her New Knife (also from Philly) and Western Haikus (from Omaha) open

Reminder 🫵 This SUNDAY, Philly oddball pop project (Julia’s War Recordings) is playing Rancho Rodeo with Lincoln ambient/experimental art ensemble Heavier Than Air and Queen Size (aka .69 with one less member than usual).

It’s a mixed bag of rock ‘n’ roll and kaleidoscopic soundscapes that we can’t wait to reach into 🔮

We have a big batch of shows coming for you next month! Here’s what October has in store! 🎃

Starting on Oct. 4, we have Staten Island grunge and nu-metal savants Jigsaw Youth () rocking Duffy’s with Wichita alt-rock queen Yasmin Nur () and Lincoln’s own Blind Searcher )!

On Oct. 6, Philadelphia lo-fi electronica outfit Hooky () will make their first Nebraska stop at Rancho Rodeo! Local support from Heavier Than Air (), an experimental performance art duo soundtracking their projection creations 💫

Forward-thinking dream-pop band Drook () comes to Duffy’s on Oct. 9 with a stacked local bill, featuring Goosehens () (dream pop), DJ Beetlebitch () (breakcore/jungle) and Sister Fortune () (singer-songwriter)!

On Oct. 10, we’re celebrating an anniversary at Duffy’s with Single Mothers (.worldwide)! It’s been 10 years since their cult-classic album Negative Qualities was released, and they’ll be in Lincoln to play through the whole thing live! Carrier (), Face (), and The Ulcer Twins () will be joining the show too! 🎉

And finally, Philadelphia DIY legends They Are Gutting A Body of Water () will be playing on Oct. 13 with an insane shoegaze lineup including Philly’s Her New Knife () and Omaha’s Western Haikus (). We can’t wait to witness this historic bill at El Proyecto!

Ride a new wave of dream-pop into Duffy’s on October 9! 🌊

Richmond band Drook is an ever-evolving project, and stating they’re on the up and up would be a total understatement. Just this year they’ve toured with MSPAINT and the legends in Turnover. So the hype is real ⚡️

With elements of punk, electronica, rock and entrancing breakbeats, Drook’s fresh take on dream-pop is one that you might want to get familiar with. They’ve got two singles out this year hinting at a new album on the way this fall – come see them before the world catches on 👊

Sick support announcement! 🌟

Winona Forever and Israel’s Arcade will be joining California indie-punks Mexican Slum Rats on 9/17 at Duffy’s!

Vancouver’s best indie rockers, Winona Forever, have been on a string of tours supporting artists like Ginger Root, as well as appearing at festivals like SXSW and Treefort Music Fest. Aside from crushing tours, the band released their groovy new singles, “Floodlights” and “Fashionably Late,” in June.

Plus! Coachella Valley natives Israel’s Arcade have grown from playing backyard shows to performing across the West Coast, playing SoCal venues like The El Rey Theatre and Santa Ana’s The Observatory.

These three bands will bring their West Coast rock and Canadian charm to Duffy’s on September 17 for an all-ages show! OH! And our best friends Ivory Daze are joining them! Be there!
