It’s my job to help people plan their dream weddings, and I firmly believe that there’s no such thing as a bad idea when imagining your dream wedding—unless you tell me you want your wedding to be *timeless.*

Usually when people say they want a timeless wedding, they mean they want to be able to look back on their wedding photos 20 years from now and not cringe at the trends they decided to incorporate into their wedding day—whether it’s bridal gowns with puff sleeves and tuxedos with suspenders, or rustic barn venues and Mason jar centerpieces.

But the thing about a timeless wedding is that it lacks personality. A timeless wedding, by definition, lacks context. A timeless wedding is a one-size-fits-all event, and there’s nothing about a timeless wedding that honors the time and place in which your love story is unfolding.

I believe your wedding should be unmistakably you—from the save-the-dates to the venue to the ceremony script. That’s why I work with couples to plan nontraditional weddings, and I specialize in designing custom ceremony scripts for people who have chosen a friend or family member to officiate their wedding.

Follow me for more wedding tips and inspiration, and drop me a message today if you’d like to get started planning the dream wedding that is unmistakably *you*!

Has anyone else been using their holiday down time to rediscover some old hobbies or interests? I have! This weekend I’ve been revisiting the Enneagram, a personality framework that I learned about several years ago and have loved ever since. No personality framework is perfect, but I love how the Enneagram has given me language to better understand myself and the people I love.

The beauty of the Enneagram lies in its simple yet profound reminder that *people are different and want different things*!! It’s so basic, but this insight is crucial when helping couples plan weddings that break the mold but still honor tradition.

Today’s couples are under more pressure than ever to plan weddings that are totally original and unlike anything their guests have experienced before—while still looking and feeling similar to other weddings.

It’s an impossible standard, which is why it’s my goal as a ceremony consultant to help folks throw impossible standards out the window and plan the wedding that’s just right for them. Drop me a message today to uncover what’s important to you on your wedding day!

And let me know in the comments if you think I got your Enneagram type right!

It turns out you can pick up a lot of wedding planning wisdom just by listening to the people who know the process best—and that’s the actual couples planning their weddings! The truth is that the learning curve can be steep when you’re just beginning to plan a wedding, so I’ve gathered eight crucial lessons I’ve learned about wedding planning from my two years in the industry. (I love about this industry that there’s always more to learn and share!)

Now, there’s a ninth lesson that didn’t make the final post, but it’s worth sharing anyway:

Bachelorette weekends can ruin even the strongest friendships!!

I’ve seen it happen. It’s so painful to watch these relationships fall apart, so I’m pleading with the brides-to-be who are reading this now: please be up front with your friends about which expenses (if any) you plan to cover for them during your bach parties! Let them know that you understand if they can’t afford to come, and mean it. Too many good friendships are lost because someone is being petty about $175!

I work with nearlyweds at any stage of the wedding planning process. I specialize in crafting personalized wedding ceremonies and helping you write one-of-a-kind vows that honor your love story. Basically I help you figure out what’s important to you, and that you have more choices than you thought. Message me today to chat about how I can help you plan your dream wedding!

Your wedding day doesn't have to be perfect—full stop.

I consider myself a ~recovering perfectionist~ so I know all too well what it's like to lose myself in the project of making something PERFECT before I will allow myself to ENJOY it. Who can relate??

The truth is that nothing needs to be perfect to be meaningful, beautiful, or delightful. And trying to make something perfect is almost always the surest way of being disappointed in the end result. So why is there more pressure than ever to plan a so-called "perfect wedding"?

A perfect wedding day means no surprises—that every detail is accounted for ahead of time and that everything goes exactly according to plan. But surprises can be some of the best parts of a wedding day! Because a perfect wedding day also means...

- No silly mishaps to laugh about later
- No spontaneous moments caught on film
- No minor crises that give your loved ones a chance to step up and show you how much they care

There are a thousand adjectives more interesting than "perfect" when it comes to planning your ideal wedding day. My work as a wedding ceremony planner means helping clients figure out what's important to them, so that they can spend their time and money on the parts of their wedding day that mean the most to them.

So DM me today if you want to learn more about how I can help you plan the wedding of *your* dreams!

I'm excited to share my latest blog post with you! I was able to connect with nine amazing artists who are reinventing modern wedding bouquet preservation.

These artist-owned small businesses are giving floral preservation a fresh new look! The wedding bouquet as we know it dates back to the Victorian era, but brides across cultures have carried flowers since antiquity—to ward off evil spirits, to accentuate their beauty, and even to mask body odor. ...

🌟 BIG NEWS 🌟

Today Something New Ceremonies makes its podcast debut! I had so much fun sitting down with Serena and Dominic of The Wedding Duo podcast to talk about wedding ceremonies. Serena and Dominic have so much experience and wisdom about the wedding planning process, and a lot of what I've learned about the wedding industry has been from their podcast. It was such an honor to be featured and get to share wisdom of my own with their listeners!

And we cover A LOT of ground in just 40 minutes. I address 7 myths about what makes a "meaningful ceremony" (spoiler alert: there's no wrong way to plan a ceremony), and I share 4 super simple tips to help first-time officiants take their officiating to the next level. There's something for everyone in this episode, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you!
