Hi everyone! My name is Dawn and I am the owner and designer behind Dawn’s Secret Garden 💐

I have over 35 years of floral design experience. I started working in flower shops on and off when I was younger. With five daughters, I was a work from home mom running a daycare out of my home for over 18 years while my girls grew up. During the holidays I would spend my time working at local flower shops.

In 2020, with all of my five daughters older and able to fend for themselves (for the most part haha), I decided to close my home daycare and start working at a local flower shop full time.

In 2021, the flower shop closed and the owner, a good friend of mine, supported me in opening my own shop by gifting me her three door florist cooler. I set up shop in my garage shortly after.

This is where the name Dawn’s Secret Garden came from. We are a “secret” little shop tucked away in a neighborhood in a small town in Connecticut. Now, I get to wake up in the morning and walk right outside my kitchen door to spend my time doing what I love- curating beautiful arrangements for all occasions!

✨ Fun Facts:
• I have been happily married to my husband Matthew for 34 years and we have five incredible daughters, two adorable nephews and an amazing son-in-law.
• I come from a long line of artists and creators. My father is a woodmaker, carpenter, and artists of other mediums. My stepmother is a watercolor and silk painter. My mother ran ceramic studio from her basement and owned craft shops. Her and my step father also do woodwork. My grandmother poured, kilned and painted porcelain dolls. She also sewed dresses for the dolls and made carousel horses. My grandfather was a carpenter as well.
• I am an artist of many mediums. From flower arrangements, to wreaths and landscape painting, I find solace in creating.
• My daughters are all artists and creators in their own regard as well!
• I love to volunteer my free time at our church, decorating with flower arrangements, painting and more.
