I don’t normally do birthday parties. I am the type of person who thrives under pressure. Hence why the wedding scene is for me. I want a one shot combination of music programming, mixing, mic work and presentation to leave an everlasting positive impression on a family.

Now, I am not saying providing music for your aunts retirement party or birthday party won’t do the same. Wait, actually I am. While still an important family gathering, the truth is that the stakes and pressure aren’t as high. Sometimes music at these events are even seen as optional.

With all that being said I did a birthday party. Hard to say no when the homie transformed his backyard into Mykonos for a night ~ An added bonus is that we got to be in Mykonos without the €200 order of fries at the beach. 🧿

I dig the 35mm film add on that photographers provide for 2 reasons:

1. The photos give a cool this vintage feel even in the most modern setting.
2. The grainy nature of the photos helps hide the zit on my forehead.

When I was designing this floral landscape, I really wanted the arrangement to embody a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Yet, at the same time still focus on clean lines and a curated selection of blooms. Hence why I came to the decision to incorporate the exotic anthuriums, flowing amaranthus, orchids, and panicle hydrangeas. I am happy I decided to go this route.

Also, don’t believe everything you read, I know nothing about florals. I am just happy the ceremony flowers were repurposed for me at the reception. Thanks for the description of what these were.

Always glad to help out where I can for this event. A few years ago I was asked if I wanted to be part of the Because of Bella fundraiser. After reading up on it, it was an automatic yes for me. Being a father of two beautiful girls, I was compelled to help this mission.

Love & Basketball

It’s customary to sneak away at this venue and take some pictures on the beach. What is not customary is stopping at the public court on the way, finding a random ball, and having a quick shoot around before your wedding reception.

However, being that Cayla played basketball and Phil football for Westfield State, it all made sense. I really loved this.

Ball don’t lie.

Everything we provide as Dj’s is experience based. There is nothing really tangible you take home ~ just memories.

In order to flip that, I made some vinyl for B&T. After the wedding I placed it in a frame and gave it to them to be hung on their wall at home.

You can’t play the record, there is no music on it. But I feel like it’s cool to have a piece of entertainment to hold onto. Even though it’s smudged with my greasy fingerprints from them late night sliders 🍔.

I’ve contemplated building a booth specific to barns but I haven’t quite figured it out yet.

There are so many different types of wood, such as oak, maple, birch, and morning, to name a few. Additionally, an infinite palate of colors and stain options. Thus, making it impossible to find a common dominator that would fit all the barn style venues.

People have attempted it, but it just ends up looking like some cheap shiplap kitchen island from an HGTV inspired flipped house.

For now I’ll keep thinking 💭
