How beautiful are these flowers by Flowers By Kay? 💐 😍
A lady whose mother's funeral I recently conducted, very kindly sent me some money to buy myself some flowers as a thank you.
It was such a lovely gesture, and I didn't hesitate to ask Kay to create a bouquet. Her flowers are always exquisite and I can simply give her a colour scheme or style, and know that she will deliver the most perfect arrangement.
If you need flowers for any occasion then I'd definitely recommend Flowers by Kay!

The weather was glorious today ☀️
I'm grateful that the crematorium has air conditioning!
It's a simple thing, but it meant that the mourners weren't feeling uncomfortably hot.
Small but significant details are so important when saying farewell to those whom we love and miss.

Today I was at a funeral as a mourner, rather than in my professional capacity as a Celebrant/Officiant.
It was a full church and, even though I'd known the lady whose funeral it was for over 30 years, it was lovely to hear things about her that I'd not known before.
RIP Christine. You will be sorely missed and church will never be the same without hearing you switch seamlessly from playing hymns to show tunes at the end of a service.

Today I was at the Crematorium where I did part of my funeral training many years ago.

I originally qualified as a Licensed Lay Minister and the training provided for conducting funerals was exceptional.

One of the days was spent at Mansfield Crematorium, learning from the Crematorium manager, Chapel attendants and seeing what happens 'behind the scenes'.

We also had a day with funeral directors, as well as several days learning about bereavement care, funerals for babies and children, being given case studies of different scenarios and undergoing safeguarding training, followed by completing practical and written assessments in order to pass the course.

It certainly prepared me well for the work I do now as an Independent Funeral Celebrant!

It brought back memories and stirred emotions today being at the place where my journey conducting funerals started ❤️

I do more than just conduct funerals.
I aim to help people through their most difficult times, whether that's through offering a listening ear, giving gentle words of advice and support, or signposting people to where they can get the specialist help that they need.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting a delightful couple whose wedding ceremony I'm conducting next year at Ye Olde Bell Hotel 😍

I can tell it's going to be a wedding full of fun, love, laughter, celebrations and food! 🥰😂

It's another wedding I'm conducting where dogs 🐕 will be part of the bridal party, but it's the first time for me where there will be a bridesman as well as maids 😊

I cannot wait to write their ceremony and am so excited to help make their special day personal and exceptional 💍❤️

This reminds me of last year when I conducted a wedding where the bride was a huge fan of 'Friends'.
She requested that I use Joey's words from Monica and Chandler's wedding as part of the opening words for the ceremony.

Many people like somewhere to be able to go to remember their loved one and it's so important for that place to be beautifully maintained and special.
Lots of Crematoriums offer burials or scattering of ashes as options, and at Memoria Barnby Moor they also offer private family gardens in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

I've had several people specifically request me when arranging their loved ones funeral, plus 3 people even stating in their own funeral plan/will that they want me to be the person who officiates their funeral!

I have had extensive funeral training and over a decade of experience in conducting cremations, burials and memorials.

☆ I believe every funeral should be unique.
Every person is individual and special and therefore every funeral should be too. I will spend as long as it takes to make sure the whole service is personalised and exactly what you want, down to the finest detail. This includes sending you a copy of the service and eulogy in advance for you to check you are happy with it.

I will get to know all about your loved one and make sure their final send off reflects them and does them justice.

I will write the whole funeral service from start to finish to suit the style you want, whether that's traditional or unconventional, including moments of humour or time for quiet reflection, secular or religious or a mixture.

☆ I can advise and assist.
If you're unsure what you want or can have, I can suggest music choices, poems or readings you may want, or any extra details to make it perfect.

☆ I have a BA Honours degree in Drama and English.
This means I can write and deliver the entire eulogy, or help you to write and/or deliver all or part of it if you prefer.
I also speak very clearly and with appropriate delivery, so that all the people present can hear and understand every word that is said.

☆ I have encountered most situations.
Having conducted funerals for almost every situation, from babies to the elderly, from those who have passed away after a long illness to those who have suddenly passed away, from families who know exactly what they want to families who are not sure or who are divided on their ideas, I can be there for you to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Having conducted a few funerals for babies with siblings, and for adults who had young children, (and from when I was a teacher and did a course on child bereavement) I know how important it is to ensure that the families get the bereavement support they need.

It's lovely when Facebook memories reminds you of wonderful moments.
I often get thank you cards and emails, but a year ago today I had a widow give me a gift as well to thank me for the personal send off I gave her late husband. It was really touching and her words moved me to tears 🥰
