Here it is! My shell collection ( so far) within the big collection I have a yellow collection and a black collection which I adore! There are also a few pieces that are fossils and they are over 2 million years old.
I did get a scotch bonnet, which is rare but Next on my list is the Junonia- a very rare shell that’s worth over $600! Lovingly named the ‘J’
Dave and I are having a blast going to different beaches at negative low tide and just walking and shelling for hours. If you can make the trip…. Sanibel Island and Anna Maria Island are my fave beaches.
I’m going to circle back around one to Thousand Islands in the Everglades and take a shelling excursion on a boat.

I’ve taken up ‘shelling’ in my retirement!! And am loving it! We did this ever vacation when we visited the Cape so this is nothing new to me…. But Florida’s got the hold on the prettiest shells ever!!! Here they are bleaching so that I can oil them up for display.
I’ll do a reveal of my entire collection once they are all prettied up!

The cutest little village I found in the outskirts of Miami. and of course there is a wedding venue, an outdoor arch and gazebo and even a chapel! There’s an event florist and a tea room and such cute shops. is my fave - a holistic shop with awesome teas that I grabbed and have been loving. Going back for some reiki soon.

It’s my parents 60th wedding anniversary today. They were 21 and 22.
My dad could have been in West Side Story and just look at my mother’s star shaped bouquet!!!

Scrolling through my pics and this bouquet caught my eye. Reminds me that I’ve designed so many bouquets that I’ve forgot about some. But as soon as I saw it I knew exactly who this bride was and her venue. I remember how very sweet she was, she trusted me. She wanted a darkly romantic feel… her husband had red hair and wore a green velvet suit… I decorated her cake with figs and plums and talked her into navy blue linens. She made felt heart garlands in these colors and we hung them from her chuppah. We used gold vessels and candelabras for her centerpieces. She was so trusting and happy with the end result. That’s what it’s about.
Funny how much I remember , years later, about a couple and their day just by seeing the bouquet.

So yeah…. I guess my trike makes it easy to be Billy the Puppet from the Saw movies …. Voluntarily scaring kids at the Haunted Hotel at Chesapeake Bay / Cape Charles KOA.

I know it’s easier said than done florists!!! I do, I get it. Before I retired I had my wedding busiest as so very streamlined, that I worked 3 days a week, 5 hour days. I loved embracing the seasons of weddings….. I must’ve made 100 of these mini pumpkin flower girl baskets over the years…. I never got sick of them. Always trendy for the fall.

If you need someone to let you off the hook and tell you that it’s truly OK to rest…. Then here’s your sign.
The rest you take will only fuel you for what you’re needing fuel for.
Listen to your body- not the negative thoughts. That voice that tells you you’re lazy if you rest. Quiet that voice because Candi says it’s okay. If you need to schedule a rest day so you don’t feel like you’re being lazy- fine! But do it and love doing it. Relish in it and enjoy it. Let if fill you up!

Wow! Seeing as everyone LOVED the reel I just posted of this wedding, I thought I’d talk a little about how we got here.
My client was obsessed with Halloween and Goth… but it’s a wedding so we needed to bring some elegance to it.
She loved air plants and said “go for it” so I did!
When I have a “theme” to work with, I think of all the details and what can I bring in that will nail the theme.
Goth-spooky- romantic… I thought of Roman times where everything was dripping with gold and opulence. Bold pieces.
I thought about the dark side of flowers and plants - dried product ( dead) like the dried leaves of the ginger plant that were dyed black…. carnivorous plants such as the pitcher plant that we used for the girls bouquets …. Then I think about texture… I want soft and I want prickly…. Shapes… that’s where you can create the creepiness and the romance.. get in the round, the long, the tubular flowers.
And don’t forget the props! Candle sticks, candelabras, painted books with a black lace design, and of course some classy glassy skulls!!!!
And just have some fun with it.

I know I’m down a rabbit hole… bur I’m hooked now…

if you’ve ever had that nasty inner dialogue or maybe it’s so big, it takes over and you need medicine to calm it.

THIS COUPLE. Periodt. The best. They were invested, not just $, but the vibe and the design of it all. Which makes designing SO much fun!
It was during the pandemic, with strict restrictions on amount of guests.
This started as a HUGE wedding but ended with something so much more - an intimate celebration FILLED with flowers!
I worked with the bride to make sure she wouldn’t miss a thing having such a small wedding - we changed the vibe, colors, and flowers to make everything bright and joyful.
She let me use whatever flowers fit in that description - which made for some very cool flowers!

I always find my people.
If you don’t know by now, I’m a firm believer of self care. It’s one of the reasons I retired - I needed more self care.
While traveling and living in an RV is amazing , it’s been hard on my body. More so than I thought it would be. At 5 foot nothing, everything is over my head. And the storage is so plentiful in this 5th wheel because all the cabinets are deep!!! So I’ve been reaching reaching reaching and overusing my Lat muscle ( back, underneath shoulder blade) it got so bad it was hurting to breath and felt like a constant not knife stabbing me. But I’m in VA!!! Haven’t a clue where to turn.
In any event…..I found Diane! The name of her business was Synergestic Massage and Energy Healing. I mean, who wouldn’t want to go to her. Then when I saw her website…. Swipe to see her offerings.
I am going to learn so much from her! I’m already leaning about the Eden Energy Method- amazing. If you don’t know, look it up!!! I’m going to be stress and anxiety free in no time.
