When Heaven Sent Me an Andie
Most people read Acts 6 and see a story about leadership and delegation.
But when I read Acts 6… I see my wedding day.
And there was Andie — the woman God gently placed behind the scenes, quietly orchestrating every detail so I could walk in peace🥰
In Acts 6, the early church was growing — hearts were being stirred, lives were being changed… but some voices started to go unheard. People began to feel forgotten in the shuffle.
The apostles, wise and Spirit-led, realized something important:
💭 “We can’t do it all.”
So they chose seven people — people full of wisdom, integrity, and the Holy Spirit — to step in and care for the community.
One of them was Stephen.
Stephen was appointed to serve — to meet needs, to show up with quiet strength. But he became much more.
He was bold. Full of grace. Faithful. And though he began by meeting practical needs, his life became a testimony of courageous love.
He wasn’t just part of the system.
He was part of the story.
And that’s exactly what Andie was for me. 🌿
When the day came — the one I had prayed for, dreamed about, and poured my heart into — emotions ran high, and so did the to-do list.
But Andi… never flinched.
She stepped in like an angel with a clipboard and calm in her voice.
She made sure:
🪑 There were enough chairs for every guest
🎶 The playlist we so carefully chose made it to the DJ
🌧 A rain plan was in place — smooth and steady
🍰 The cake cutting happened on time and without chaos
🚙 Our exit and getaway car were ready
☔️ And when the sky opened up — she held my umbrella
🤍 But most beautifully of all…
She stood beside me just before I walked down the aisle, whispering encouragement when my heart felt like it might burst.
She told me to breathe.
To soak it in.
To be fully here.
She didn’t just manage a wedding.
She carried the moment with grace — like a modern-day Stephen, faithfully stepping into a role that made everything else possible.
✨ The truth is…
God never asked us to do it all alone.
Even the apostles needed help.
Even holy days need steady hands.
And sometimes, the most sacred kind of love comes from those working quietly behind the scenes.
So to Andie…
Thank you.
For your heart, your strength, and your presence.
For standing beside me when I needed it most.
And to anyone else stepping into a big moment — a marriage, a mission, a new beginning —
