Some people ask, "Where and when did you get your start?"

Although we are celebrating being in business 5 years today, for me, this picture kind of sums it up. Odyssey of the Mind has been a cornerstone of my life. I competed in OM for 12 years and have spent many years since judging in my state. When my family moved closer to my hometown a couple of years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to co-coach a team right where it all began.

The photo, shared by Odyssey HQ, is from the World Finals at Iowa State University, where our coaching team won the World Coaches Competition. (Yes, there’s a coaches competition, and yes, we went hard. 😂) Seeing that moment again brought back so many memories—of laughter, creativity, and pure joy.

Odyssey of the Mind has given me so much:
🌟 The chance to travel the country
🎓 Scholarships that helped with college
✨ Lifelong friendships and a community of support
💡 The courage to dream big, without fear
..It also taught me how to sell my brand, sell myself, and use more glitter than anyone ever thought possible. (Seriously, I’m pretty sure I’m still finding glitter from 2006.)

And of course, it taught me how to burn the hell out of my hand with a glue gun and just keep going. 💪🔥

It is because of building blocks like Odyssey of the Mind that I am where I am today—professionally, artistically, and creatively. I cannot wait for 50 more years of building memories with you all!

Owning a business like ours is filled with joyful moments and exciting celebrations for our tribe, but sometimes, it also comes with challenging and deeply meaningful requests. This past week, Kit experienced a personal loss, as his family said goodbye to a loved one. In a heartfelt gesture, Kit was asked to create a special keepsake arrangement in lieu of traditional memorial flowers.

These two mini trees were crafted to honor her passion for the Sooners, while also serving as a lasting tribute for her two children to remember their mother each holiday season. Each tree is a living memory, a beautiful way for them to celebrate their mother's incredible life and the love she shared with the world.
