As we continue to dig into our ✨Venue Tips✨, we have to touch on the guest experience. ​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​.
It is vital that the venue you choose doesn’t present massive logistical challenges, that you don’t purposefully rectify before the wedding weekend.
L & D chose to host their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in the same space so that guests didn’t experience any travel or timing hiccups in the bustling city of .
In effort to use the same room for multiple events, the couple worked with their planner, coordinator, venue & catering teams to ensure that the space was utilized correctly & that their guest were wowed every time they entered the same space.

One of the most frequently asked questions that we receive as a planning firm is “How do I pick a wedding venue”. This is a very complicated question.​​​​​​​​​.​​​​​​​​​.
On the surface, couples pick a venue because they’ve “fallen in love” with a specific space. As experts, we highly recommend that you look beyond the aesthetics of the space, or the feeling you got when you walked in. We ask that you strategize when making this decision, because it is typically when a bulk of the financial & emotional investment is spent. What should you ask yourself? See 👇🏾
1) Does this fit into our budget 💰? We suggest that couples don’t spend more than 30-35 % of their budget on the venue/catering.
2) Can I fit all of my guests into the space comfortably?🕺
3) Will the space support any cultural events I must have? Ex. A huge parking lot for a baraat? High ceilings for my fire pit for the ceremony?
4) Is the location convenient? Will it impede upon the guest experience?
5) Will your wedding day logistics be supported by the onsite managers? 📝

When planning K & D’s , it was important for her garments to represent her Vietnamese culture and her American experience. We did this by incorporating red! Which in Vietnamese culture symbolize the wishes of good luck for the couple! And lucky they are!

As black history month winds down, we’d be remised if we didn’t touch on one of the MANY African- American wedding traditions.
The origins of “jumping the broom” are noted to have begun during the time of African enslavement in the US. As property, slaves were unable to legally wed. Those couples decided to “jump into” a new life together as husband & wife. African folklore also notes that brooms were used to ward off evil spirits as they are “swept” away as the couple enters their new lives together.
African-Americans today continue to honor their ancestors & their history by jumping the broom after they are legally declared as married.
Tradition, culture & love in all of its shapes and sizes are celebrated throughout our process. From Jumping the broom to Unity candle ceremonies, our team gets it done!

With all of posts last week dedicated to girls for ✨Galentine’s Day ✨, we figured it was time to show the guys some LOVE!
Our CBK grooms play all different roles throughout the planning process. We’ve had grooms that have done ALOT of the heavy lifting & planned the weddings because their bride to be was in grad school, or moving up the career ladder or because their culture is the one we are mostly leaning into.
One thing ALL of our grooms want to hear about is the budget and we are here for it! Budget calls are some of our favorite and really a space where we get to know the couple, what they value and what they don’t.

If you are anything like me, you are a PLANNER in most areas of your life. And planning my own wedding was no exception. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
I got engaged to my beau on Feburary 5, 2013. I knew it was coming! We’d talked about the details... discussed my favorite diamond cut and pulled out our calendars to pick a “tentative” date. But in true Kim fashion, getting the ring was just the final piece to the engagement puzzle. Before I even got to stare at my ring and get 3 manicures within 10 days, I had planned my wedding. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
You read that right! I’d placed a deposit on my venue, had preliminary conversations with my photographer, stalked my favorite DJ (hey ) for his availability and shopped for dress. .​​​​​​​​
Pretty presumptuous, but I knew I had it in the bag.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
As our wedding season comes to an end, I get to reflect on how impactful the planning process is. It is full of emotions, to-do lists, compromise and joy (occasionally some pain)...and I love every bit of it! ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

When it rains, the photos pour in!
On this stormy New England day, we can’t help but recall how our team is able to PIVOT and shift when the weather is unpredictable.
Our intentions were to use the beautiful grounds around the to grab the most delicious pics of L & D, but mother nature had other plans.
Rain plans are discussed throughout the planning process with our team, so that everyone (including the guests) are comfortable and have the same experience as originally envisioned.
Thankfully during the 90 minute cocktail “hour”, the rain let up for a few moments and allowed the photography team to capture some of the most timeless pictures of the wedding weekend.
Oh, and the team keep the clear umbrellas ☔️ on deck!
