The Va**na Monologues, a play by Eve Ensler, is coming to the Ellensburg United Methodist Church! The actors (and director and producer) are working hard and we know you want to support community theater 😉 if you have an economic hardship, please DM us and we will see what we can do. As we transition into September and begin a new year of Pride planning, we want to send a HUGE thank you to our foundational board members that created the we know today. Keelin Patillo, Melissa Jordine, Meg Winters, and Annaliese Stone are all leaving their posts as board members as they start new chapters in their lives. We know they will stay as involved as they are able to (and hopefully on committees) and as volunteers, but we are so grateful for their leadership and unending commitment to building up SOGIE and 2SLGBTQIA voices in Kittitas County. It takes a village to stand up an organization from the ground up! Thanks to all the KCP family members as well for sharing your people. Kittitas County Pride is bringing the Va**na Monologues to Kittitas County! Auditions are being held 7/27 from 1-4 at the Kittitas Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation (400 N Anderson St, Ellensburg).

To audition:
- Reserve a slot online (visit kittitascountypride.org/events/vm-auditions)
- Prepare a one-minute monologue
- Bring your schedule for weekday evenings in August and September
- Must be available 9/9-9/13 and 9/14, 9/21, and 10/5
- Do to the adult nature of some of the stories, you must be 18 years or older to audition

We are saddened to hear about the vandalism of Pride flags in our community. Thank you to Ellensburg United Methodist Church for being a shining light and welcoming place in Ellensburg. If you have experienced vandalism or theft during Pride month or any other time of year, please reach out to EPD/Kittcom at 509.962.7280. Keep celebrating and know we appreciate you! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

To whoever is tearing down our Pride flags in the middle of the night -- if you need a flag so desperately, please let us know (leave a comment and we'll follow up). We have extras on hand and would be happy to gift you one. Tearing them off of our building and stealing them creates more work for you, for us, and for the Ellensburg Police Department as they take our reports and video footage. We'll keep putting them up when they come down as we continue celebrating Pride Month, but it's easier if they just stay up.

Community, if you see somebody removing a Pride flag under the cover of darkness, please contact EPD/Kittcom at (509)962-7280 to report it as vandalism. We do all of our official decorating and un-decorating during daylight hours.

To those who are vandalizing our church due to our support for LGTQIA+ folks and our affirmation of God's love for all people, knock it off. Your hate is not welcome.

Whether our flags are displayed or not, everyone is ALWAYS welcome here.

If you are free tomorrow 6/8, our friends are throwing a Festival and Parade starting at 10am at Portia Park and going through downtown Yakima. The festival starts at 12pm at the State Fair Park! Join Helen House Ellensburg after the Pride Parade and before the Drag Show at their BBQ! (And tonight at Iron Horse of course 🤗) ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Here's a look at our events schedule for the next few weeks!

Upcoming first we have our Pint Night at Iron Horse Brewery. There will be bingo hosted by a drag queen, and a silent auction with many wonderful items donated by local artists and businesses, One dollar from every pint bought will go towards Helen House. Everyone is welcome! Tonight at Iron Horse Brewery Headquarters from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.

Next, we have the most anticipated Kittitas County Pride Parade! Helen House will walk (and possibly skate) with The Goddess, our fabulous limo. We will be handing out lots of goodies so make sure to wave at us! The parade starts and ends at E 7th Ave at 11:00 AM. If you're trying to find a spot to sit and watch take a look at the route map we posted via the wonderful Kittitas County Pride.

Did you think we were done with Pride after the parade? Think again! After the Pride Parade, we will throw an After Pride BBQ at Helen House. We will have burgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and snacks. If you are planning on stopping by please complete the Google form in our bio to RSVP (this will also allow you to tell us any dietary restrictions you have). Everyone is welcome. From 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

Do you hear that music? It's probably us celebrating! We have our Fifth Birthday Party at The Mule on June 15th. Come join us for music, food, drinks, dancing, and queeraoke! Donations welcome! From 6:00pm - 10:00pm
