This fun beginners yoga series is being hosted at the studio in our theater by local yoga instructor, Connie Larson. It’s an 8 week series laying out the fundamentals of yoga, with each week being a different focus. This class is offered outside of the Maco fitness club offerings, and payment can be made directly to the instructor the day of class. Curious about the benefits of yoga? Come find out!
New 8-week yoga class starting next week in Virginia at Maco Theater See below or event post for details.
We have a new class starting today- Barre with Becky! This class is inspired by ballet movements and utilizes the railing system in the studio and light 2-3 pound weights. Stick around afterwards for Evening Yoga Flow with Wendy!!

Happy Sunday- the “plan out your week ahead day” (or Sunday funday for some 😉). Just a quick heads up that music video sculpt this week is cancelled as our instructor will be out of town for a funeral. Thanks for your understanding!
July is here and so are summer classes! We added a new Friday morning yoga class starting this week as well, which you can sign up for now ☀️ See our full schedule and sign up online at macotheater.com ☀️
Quick heads up that there is no Pilates class tomorrow. Allison's son is graduating 6th grade, and they have some family time planned. ❤️Class resumes as normal next week! Thanks for your understanding!
Day passes are available for locals! We will be teaching some of our signature classes, but also are looking forward to being attendees and spending time together for a much needed mother daughter weekend. Personally looking forward to the vision boarding workshop, herb class, and acrylic landscape painting!
Don't miss out on our 2nd Annual , May 17-19, here at The Lodge at Giants Ridge.

Happy Star Wars Day! Pictured here a piece of Maco Theater history: Former City Mayor Jalmar Johnson shakes hands with local movie enthusiast, Rick Olson, that he recruited to dress up as Darth Vader for the release of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Darth Vader greeted customers for the premier and ran up and down the aisles at the start of the movie. May the 4th be with you!
Our online class registration system is experiencing some technical difficulty and is in the process of being fixed. Feel free to DM us to sign up or drop in for class if needed ☺️ apologies for the inconvenience!
It’s MIB prom this weekend! We are honored they decided to use our venue for their event again this year!
Our theater is a great place for events if you’re looking for something a little different or something customizable on the range. This year we’ve done bridal showers, birthday parties, custom kids fitness classes, and now we will host the prom this weekend.🕺💃🪩
We apologize to the participants signed up, but our pop up Zumba teacher cancelled on us again, so that class is no longer offered this week. We will be offering Dance 2B Fit for free in place of it for those who want to come try something new! Dance 2B Fit is a more modern take on a Zumba style class, with similarly easy to follow choreography, but set to hits of today instead of Latin inspired music.
Thanks for your understanding!
We have a fun week planned! 80s Ladies night, Free ZUMBA, and yoga with soundbowls 🤩
Update! Our Zumba teacher cancelled on us so Dance 2B Fit will be offered for free this week in its place.
We will be participating in the Women’s Wellness Retreat again this year! Last years retreat brought us so much joy, but we have to say that the itinerary this year looks even more amazing. Painting, hiking, wine & beer tasting, vision boarding, yoga, women’s seminars, even line dancing? Excited to be an instructor, but equally excited to be a participant!
Check out their website with the full itinerary!
Yoga, wine tasting, reiki, pilates, hiking, painting, beer tasting, line dancing and PLENTY of TIME with the GALS!

As of now, all classes are still on for tonight! Our teachers told us they feel comfortable getting there to teach. We will provide a full refund or class credit for cancellations up to the time of class today instead of our normal four hour cancellation policy. Please prioritize your safety if need be ☺️

Next weekend we are hosting a special event inspired by one of the self-exploration sessions owner/instructor Allison did in her teacher training in Thailand. Our guided paint meditation is meant to be therapeutic, fun, freeing, non-judgemental, introspective, and creative. You don't need to be an artist- just come with an open mind and heart! We will provide all of the materials and some light refreshments.
Members get 50% off the event- use code MEMBER when booking to redeem.
Allison is back from vacation so our “normal” schedule resumes this week! Thanks to all of our guest instructors and fill ins who helped make it a fun few weeks! It sure is nice to have a network of close knit instructors in our small community 💪🏻
Having said that, if you or anyone you know is looking to to be a guest or pop up instructor, we are always continuing to grow our network! Dm us!
A few members brought to our attention that they weren’t able to register for the yoga & sound bowl class online with their membership. This bug has been fixed and the class is included for all memberships and packages & you are able to register online now.
Thanks for the heads up and patience! See you there! 🧘♀️🎶

Welcome, first Thursday of April!
Plenty of local artists and businesses to support while bringing in the Spring here on the Eastern Iron Range. Even though it feels like 3rd winter, we could all still use a little bit of joy in visual art, music and good food and gifts. Downtown Virginia will bring you and Karl Sundquist at Rainy Lake , and the student gallery opening over , artwork by Peri Bovitz will be on display at The Card Shop and BitterSweet will be playing over in Gilbert! top into Andrew's Cameras to view photography from Carol Bowman, Ian Carlson, and Marianne Niemiste. Check out their links and the events page for further information. Make sure to tag us in your photos or posts of participation

VIRGINIA — The historic MACO Theater has lived several lives in its long existence.
Happy international womens day! As a mother- daughter team, we are 100% female owned (and soon to be operated 😋). One of our main objectives is to empower everyone to embrace and celebrate being the best versions of themselves. Today that means recognizing women for everything that makes us who we are and what we can be 🥰

This video is from 2 years ago today when we were celebrating our offer to buy the Maco Theater being accepted. Fast forward to today and we have the prom committee from MIB in here decorating for their prom tomorrow! It took us two girls tons and tons of work and bootstrapping to get this old theater shined up and functional. But now we are so happy to have our community and local students in here enjoying its magic!! Stay tuned for pics of our first official big event!
Good morning! Quick announcement in lieu of the potential inclement weather coming our way tonight: we will not have our regular 6:35 pm Free Maco Gives Back class tonight. However, we want to offer you a free yoga class at noon instead. Come by and check out this class that is offered every Monday and Wednesday with our awesome instructor Wendy Schwab! Use code MACOGIVESBACK when booking to sign up!
Looking to try something new tonight? Come to our free big screen cardio class! This class is all about having fun, being silly, & getting our heart rates up! Our big screen is up and ready for classes!! Our boutique studio is aiming to provide an immersive, high energy, fun approach to fitness classes. Our goal is to take the WORK out of workout, with all the same health benefits. Check out our immersion yoga, big screen cardio, stage light yoga, yoga HIIT fusion & others for fun on the big screen ✨💫
Pop the champagne because construction starts this week! Our first steps are to clean up the outside of the building, replace the glass and doors, and in the near future- give our sign and marquee some love and a paint refresh. We will be sure to post progress reports on our page! 😊
Since we shared the Maco sign lit up, we figure we should show you the mechanics of it. This is a video of a panel behind the sign and what happens when you turn it on. We were quite surprised to see that this is how it works… pretty neat if you ask us! But phew! Thank goodness there are smart electricians out there to help us... we really have our work cut out!
